"What do you mean, 'I'm not enrolled'!" I shrieked, jumping out of my chair. How could I not be enrolled. We handed in paperwork and I was accepted, so how did this happen? I stared questionably at the four adults that looked confusedly of the quiet girl of a timid nature. I realised, that my outburst had not happened in my head, I blushed violently and sat back down. Do you know what is really interesting, Scarlet? Shoes, particularily your school shoes that you happen to be wearing now. Floors are also interesting, maybe you should try observing them sometime. Perhaps now. My gazed was fixed on the floor as the principal began again.
"My dearest apologies, scarlet, but we cannot find your records anywhere, and we are not legally allowed any more children, unless you also happen to have any serious long term illnesses." I weighed up my choices. Moving schools or Paralysis. A new start or a fractured spinal cord. I had to admit that A new school wasn't sounding Completely bad. I finally looked up and tried to regain the smallest partical of my dignity by asking a rather intellectual sounding question.
"So, what will happen to me now?" I asked. Real Intelligent, but at least you didn't throw up or something.
"Well, as you know, the only highschools in the immediate area is this one, Caitlyn Girls Academy, or Ranfurly Boys school. So we have a problem. The nearest school that may accept you is a good hour by bus, but, it is a country school, with less than 50 pupils. So we have one more option. You may be aware that we have a sister school in japan, and I have been told that you speak Japanese rather fluently." This was true, my grandmother raised me, and she spoke japanese whenever she babysat me. So for the first 5 years of my life. "Now, we understand the unconvenience of this all, but, we can offer you a Free exchange trip for a Year, and you will be enrolled next year. Or if you prefer, as soon as a space becomes free." The principal, secratary and my parents looked at me expectantly and my mind went blank. Japan? Like, actual asian japan! How could I say no! I mean, I would miss my parents, and all of my primary school friends, no, make that friend, now attends Ranfurly boys. And it's free. FREE. I gather my thoughts and look up to the still staring eyes of the adults. With a small nod of my head I stand up and say"I'll take it." The four stayed eerily still for several seconds before blinking and looking at each other. They suddenly burst into laughter and I swear I jumped and nearly banged into the ceiling, which, trust me, is hard considering how vertically challenged I so happen to be.
"Great News! Great news!" Mr Jackson said as their laughter finally died down.
"Now, your flight leaves at 9 am Tomorrow Morning, So go home and get packed!" With that my mouth dropped to the floor and my parents and I were promptly escorted outside the office.
"If you will excuse me, I have work to do." the nameless secratery remarks before rushing away in a hurry. My parents begin randomly chattering as if one year of my entire life wasn't about to be changed. We made our way to the exit and as I looked back towards the school that held my would have been friends a word popped into my head that could quite possibly sum up my short experience at Caitlyns Girls Academy...Rude.
So with the next 5 chapters I will have a main character profile image and some characteristics, as well as a character song. So first up is the main character Scarlet!
Hiya, next chapter things should start getting interesting! I already have views and it isn't even 24 hours old yet. Hopefully I end up finishing this book. Anyways, Enjoy reading!
