benny's pov:

after the long car ride and crying the whole way we finally arrived at the new house. it was a two story house that looked pretty good.

"okay mijo, i know it's gonna be hard for the first few weeks but i promise you you'll love it." my mother smiled at me. i just shrugged. my father who was driving the truck left before us so he was already here.

"finally, you guys made. i was starting to think you guys got lost." my father said coming outside. my mom laughed. i stayed quite. "hey bud, why don't you start unloading your things from the truck and start decorating your room. i already got your bed built." he said putting a hand on my shoulder. i nodded and opened the truck.

alright see you guys tomorrow!" i heard a voice say in the distance. i look over and see a girl with blonde hair walking away from a group of boys. she pretty but i'm taken and i'm not gonna ruin what dylan and i have. no fucking way. apparently she saw me staring at her. she waved to me. i waved back to be polite.

i took a few boxes upstairs. my room was quite big, a lot bigger than my room back in california. i see my bed in the corner of my room. i put the boxes on the floor and walk over to my bed. i flopped down on it to exhausted to do anything. i was letting my thoughts roam until they came across dylan. i decided to shoot her a text. as soon as i sent the text i drifted off into a deep sleep.

july 21st 2021

dylan's pov:

the sun beamed on my face telling me it was time to wake up. after benny left i went into my room to cry and sometime i fell asleep. he hasn't even been gone for a whole day and i already miss him like crazy. i reached over to my nightstand and grabbed my phone. when i saw that benny had texted me my heart fluttered. i quickly tapped on the notification.

i miss you already, mi amor.
8:02 pm.

i felt tears build up in my eyes. god i miss him. i just want him to hold me. i decided to reply.

good morning, love. sorry i didn't respond i was sleeping. i miss you so so much .
7:30 am.

i decided it was a good idea to get up and ready for the day. i went into my bathroom. i turned on the shower. i stripped of my clothes putting them in my laundry basket.

i stepped in the shower. i felt the warm water run down my body calming me down in the process. my whole shower consisted of my thoughts of benny.

i turned off the water once i was done. i forgot to grab clothes so i went back into my room to search for some. benny gave me his jersey before he left so i put that on with some grey sweats. even though i'm ready for the day doesn't mean i'm gonna go out. i don't think i could go to the sandlot for at least another few days. i quickly got dressed and brushed my teeth. i threw my hair in a braid to dry.

i went downstairs to find an empty house. my mom must be at work. i went into the kitchen cabinets and grabbed some cereal. i poured the cereal into a bowl. since my mom wasn't home i thought it wasn't a bad idea to eat on the couch. it's not like she'll ever find out. i grabbed the remote and put on stranger things.

i finished my cereal a while ago and restarted stranger things for the tenth time in a row. my focus on the tv was interrupted by the sound of a truck. i got up off the couch and peeled through the blinds to see what it was.

a moving truck filled the driveway of benny's house. or should i say old house. i sighed and went back to my place on the couch.

why did benny have to move?
