Traitor ~ Bucky Barnes

Set Up

Bucky was walking away with Walker. They had just rounded up the last of the super-soldiers. Now they were being arrested and off to the Raft. It was a bit easier than he expected. All it took was a simple app to lure them in.

As the two of them were walking away, a random guy came up to Bucky. "Sargent Barnes? Can we have you look at something?" said the man.

From hearing his name, Bucky turned around. He did not recognize the man but agreed to help him with whatever he was referring to. As they walked down a dark alleyway. It led them near where the super-soldiers were being handcuffed and transported.

Once the man stopped walking, he turned around and just looked at Bucky. It was weird, and something was off.

"Do you not recognize me, Bucky?" said the man. Once he stopped talking, the man went to his face and pulled off a masking device. Underneath was Katherine. She was standing right in front of him.

"Katherine? What the hell are you doing here?" he asked.

Katherine chuckled; she thought it would be obvious why she was here. But, it was fair; she had gone MIA. No one was able to track her movements.

"Come on, Bucky. You know I'm not done yet." she said.

"Done with what?"

"The super-soldiers, of course."

She sure was her father's daughter, even with Zemo gone in prison. Katherine was set to finish what they started. None of this would end with just Karli's death. It would require the complete elimination of all of the super-soldiers she created.

Bucky was not surprised she wanted to finish off the rest of the super-soldiers. But, why now, when people were looking for her, especially here. Katherine risked a lot coming here. There was more to this; Bucky just did not know what.

"Where are they being transported to?" asked Katherine.

"The Raft..." He waited for a reaction. After all, Zemo was going to be transported there as well. But, she did not react. "You know you don't have to do this, it's over," he added.

Katherine could not believe his words. Does he really think it ends here? Just because they would be put behind bars, the message still lives. That is even if prison could hold them. As long as there were people to fight for the cause. Others would help them. However, if you get rid of all the pawns, then there is nothing more they can do.

"Do you really think they will make it to the Raft? Or that it would even hold them?" said Katherine.

She knew she would not be ignorant as him or Sam. Katherine would take care of this herself. To end the supremacy for good.

"It doesn't end here. As long as they live their message will too." she added.

Bucky gave a look of understanding. Even though he understood what Katherine was saying, he could not stand behind it. Maybe it was because of the new and improved hero gig. He had to trust the system would keep them detained.

From everything she had said, he knew Katherine was not going to simply walk away. She was telling him she was going to kill them. He did not know how. However, Bucky was not going to let her go.

"I'm not gonna let you walk. You're not going to hurt those people." he said.

Katherine smirked; I'm counting on it. "I know.." she paused.

Looking over the edge of the bridge, she saw all the people being put in the vehicle. It was almost time. Bucky was smart, but he could still not tell when he was being set up.

Turning back to face him, she said, "I just had to make sure you weren't in the way."

His face turned into worry and confusion, "What? What did yo-"

Cutting off his words was an explosion. It was big enough as it dazed Bucky. He ducked down to avoid any debris. Once it died down, he looked for Katherine. To find her gone.

Damnitt.

He yelled her name in the hope she would turn up again. Katherine was always the one to set up Bucky. For whatever reason, he would buy her bull shit. Because he did, more people were killed.

Katherine walked away scratch-free. Everything was taken care of peacefully. To make things better, she did not even have to worry about Karli. Sharon had texted her that she was dead. She knew Karli would not accept Sharon's offer. Therefore she was killed as insurance.

Opening her phone, she dials a number. It only took three rings until the other person answered. In Sokovian, Oeznik greeted Katherine.

"Oeznik! Everything went to plan?" she asked.

"Yes, ma'am. They were all eliminated as requested."

"Good. Thank you, Oeznik. You have been a good friend. I'll talk to you soon."

With that, she ended the call. Everything was perfectly placed. Now Katherine could rest. But, even then, it was not so simple.

Bucky would be looking for her now. As she had the status of Baron and Power Broker. She would be okay with losing those titles. Would she go back to prison? No.

However, Katherine would be okay with living a secluded life. Away from everything. Maybe one day.

First, she still had a place to visit. A place she had not been to in almost ten years. A place that does not exist anymore.
