"I got it!" Ano indiscreetly shouted, looking rather celebrant.
"Got what?" Shiromi asked.
"I don't know why she hasn't done it yet but Nancy can win if she turns into Sigar. Sigar can't be harmed if she turns into diamond so what is Nancy just turned her into glass?" Ano curiously theorized.
"Perhaps she can't?" Shiromi tried her best to contribute to Ano's theoretical conversation which was not one of her social strengths. The last time she talked philosophically or theoretically, barely any words escaped her mouth from lack of understanding.
"That's unlikely," Ano replied. "She just turned into Eloc earlier."
"Only time will tell," Shiromi said, shutting down the conversation and shifting her attention to the fight.
Sigar's angry expression faded into the face of a sentimental person as she heard the words of Nancy. She thought long and hard while Nancy was at a loss for breath and being crushed to death.
"You remind me of my younger self," Sigar stated in a neutral and calmed voice. "You just want to recognized."
Nancy nodded desperately with more tears in her eyes. It was a sore sight for the crowd and even Sigar herself.
Sigar stepped off Nancy and pulled her by the shirt up onto her feet. "Prove yourself. Prove to me that you are worthy of being recognized. I want you to fight me without holding back and prove yourself to everyone that you are a person that deserves to be recognized!" Sigar spoke with a passion in her voice that lifted Nancy's spirits.
"What's this? The Tyrant herself is giving Nancy a chance! Is she over-confident or is she doing this out of the goodness of your heart?" MK announced, keeping the crowd on edge.
Cheers began to arise from Mandero's crowd.
"You can do it!"
"Finish her and save our universe!"
"We believe in you, Nancy!"
Positive cheers flourished and it wasn't just Mandero's crowd anymore. Everyone started cheering for Nancy. Nancy heard words and compliments and had never been used to describe her before. For once in her life, she felt confident in herself.
Sigar glanced around and noticed the cheers as well. All of sudden, the people believed in Nancy's victory more than her.
Nancy clenched her fist and took a final stance. "I'll defeat you and prove to you what I can achieve!"
"That's the spirit." For Sigar's first time, she smiled not out of confidence or satisfaction but out of happiness and relief. "Now are you gonna show these people what you're made of or what?"
Nancy smirked and dashed towards Sigar with full force.
Sigar laid her fingertips on the ground and turned it into red glass.
Nancy slipped in an uncontrollable direction and Sigar dodged out of the way. In a clutch, Nancy fell on her side and grabbed onto Sigar's ankle, tripping her and falling hard onto the ground.
Nancy stood up and turned into a man wearing knight's armour that bared a scar over his left eye. His fist charged with orange energy and he threw a punch down onto Sigar, who was still on the ground.
Sigar turned her fists into diamond and attempted to block the upcoming attack. The punch hit so hard that it vibrated the entire colosseum and cracked the glass in the ground. The impact sounded like a one second cut of a rocket launch that deafened the audience. She squinted from the impact. The force of the punch vibrated through her fists and into her non-diamond body, fracturing her arms and shoulders.
Nancy charged up his fist again and sent down a second punch into Sigar's fists.
This time, Sigar turned her arms and shoulders into diamond to reinforce herself further. The punch landed once more but with the other fist. The colosseum shook again and the glass cracked more. The force vibrated through her even more and fractured her rib cage and collar bone.
Nancy continued her barrage of heavy punches and Sigar had to reinforce another part or her body everytime.
How about you show everyone what you're truly made of? Kyokudo thought to himself, watching over Sigar.
Sigar had blocked a total of six strong punches and by then, the only part of her that wasn't diamond was her head. She was forced to go into maximum defence. It was before the seventh punch that Sigar knew what she had to do next.
Nancy landed his seventh punch and red light emanated from Sigar, illuminating the entire arena and blinding the whole audience.
The wind revolved around Sigar like a hurricane and the sky which was Kyokudo's eye turned plain red. Every single light and reflection in the colosseum turned red. The entire theme of everything around her changed.
The light beneath MK's mask had shined red as he spoke into the microphone. "What's happening? Sigar is giving off a powerful aura that seems to be affecting her surroundings. Everything is turning red!" If he had eyebrows, MK would have raised them as high as he could because the match just started to heat up.
The crowd was filled with screams; Mandero's especially. No one had seen Sigar use her power to this extent and lived to tell the tale. The only way rumours spread and how people knew of this power is because when she used it, every light in Kodok City turned red.
This was the day that the multiverse witnessed the full power of "The Diamond Tyrant".
The winds relaxed and the light faded, revealing the tyrant concealed behind it. Sigar's entire body was made of red diamond. Kyokudo's eye became a red spotlight that isolated the fighters in the middle from the rest of the audience.
Sigar stood in front of Nancy menacingly. "Seriously, you didn't think I was going to hand the victory to you that easily, did you?" Sigar's red eyes gave the stare of an inner demon. "Now everyone knows what I really am."
Nancy didn't need to think for more than a second to figure what she was referring to. Still as the knight, he threw another charged punch.
Sigar caught it and began to crush Nancy's hand. His glass fist cracking was satisfying to listen to but nerve-racking to watch.
Relieved, Nancy only said one word: "Finally." She shapeshifted into an exact replica of Sigar in her final form and punched her in the gut, cracking her waist.
MK dropped his non-existent jaw in utter shock."Did my vision camera deceive me? Nancy just replicated the full power of Sigar and hit her with her own attack! She must've been waiting for her to bring out this form of hers all along!"
"Do that's why she didn't use it until now. Ingenious! If she had turned into Sigar earlier, she would've been reluctant to show off her final form," Ano deduced.
"I would've never thought of that," Shiromi embarrassingly admitted.
"It's me versus myself; how fitting," Sigar remarked, observing her replica.
Blood seeped through the cracks in both of the fighters but neither of them backed down. Instead, they focused even more and stared.
Sigar continued fron her last sentence. "I suppose the real question is: Who is the better me?" She chuckled at her own words. Ironically, she really was battling someone just like her. She was battling a fellow dreamer.
They both engaged and threw mass amounts of punches, counters and blocks. Every punch made a new crack that had blood spurt out from them. It was impossible to predict the outcome of this battle. It could've gone either way with the flip of a coin. The only thing the audience could do was watch. Watching and anticipating.
Punches landed all over them and gradually, the diamond converted to glass.
"You're not entirely diamond, you've merely created a flexible shell to protect you over your skin. I know when you've completely turned your body parts into full diamond. It's when you can't move them at all," Nancy critiqued Sigar in her own voice.
"I guess you've figured it out," Sigar confessed as some patches of diamond crumbled off've her, revealing the flesh beneath her skin.
Nancy took a stance, the exact same thing happening to her.
Sigar threw a punch and Nancy dodged.
"I'm going to prove to myself that I can be someone!"
Nancy punished and hooked Sigar right in the face.
"S-she's winning!" Shiromi exclaimed.
Ano agreed, Mandero agreed, the whole crowd agreed. Everyone cheered on for Nancy, calling her name.
"Nancy! Nancy! Nancy!" Everyone called rhythmically.
Sigar recovered balance and threw a second punch.
"I'm going to show the world that I'm worthy!" Nancy caught the punch and crushed it into glass, breaking Sigar's fist and then high kicking her in the chin.
A loud crunch sounded and Sigar stumbled backwards, stunned.
"Finish her!" The entire crowd repeatedly shouted.
"I am Nancy!" Nancy ran, her fist ready to throw the final blow.
As she threw the punch, Sigar came back to her senses and shifted her head a little to the left and then hugged Nancy.
Nancy opened her fist and transformed into her real self as she slowly turned into a diamond statue. She became the statue of a woman reaching out for her ambitions and dreams.
"You proved yourself. People will remember you for who you are and you'll never be forgotten." Sigar turned back into her normal self and a tear ran down her cheek as she held tight onto Nancy. "You should rest. You've done enough, Nancy."
Sigar let go of Nancy and turned her back, tragically walking away. As she walked away, she thought of Nancy as the only person she could relate to. She was a friend.
"I wish I had met you sooner." Sigar clenched her fists as she stormed away from the statue.
"W-well, we have a winner! The fighter Nancy cannot continue, which gives Sigar Harstova a spot in the second round! Nancy is eliminated from the tournament! Fighter One of team Kyokudo claims the victory!"
No one cheered or even spoke a word and Sigar had it coming. She felt like she deserved hate from others for most of her life but this was the first time she felt guilty for it.
Mandero spoke for first time, "Daaaaaamn iiiiiiiit!"
The other gods didn't know what to say or where to look so most of them just looked down. However, one god clapped. It was Remy, Slayer of Gods.
"What a good match!" He said, nonverbally inviting everyone else to clap. Although, nobody did.
"Please sit tight while we organize the next match!" MK announced. He then glanced over the original announcer and talked to him, mic out of his hands. "What's your name?"
"Levi," he reluctantly answered.
"Mind if I become the commentator for a while?" MK bluntly asked.
Levi gave a nod and leaned back into his chair. He felt like he needed to give his voice a break.
