Zoey 101 Meets Pregnancy

Day 3... Zoey's appointment

In Choey's room...

Zoey's phone goes off. "Hello?" Zoey answers.

"Zoey, when are you going to be home?" Dustin asks. "I packed everything up for PCA."

"Dustin, slow down there bud. Summers not quite over yet. And I still have two weeks left in Hawaii." Zoey tells her little brother.  "I will see you in two weeks bud."

"School starts in two and a half weeks." Dustin whines.

"Dustin, I'll talk to you later okay? I love you and see you soon." Zoey tells him.

"Love you too Zoey." Dustin says. Zoey hangs up her phone and sets it down on her nightstand.

"How is he?" Chase asks.

"Missing school like a little weirdo, but he's good. He's going to be starting high school this year so he can't complain." Zoey tells Chase.

"I think Dustin misses his sister more than school." Chase tells her. "He spent all summer with your parents in England and now he's coming back to California to spend all year with his sister."

"Dustin's getting to the age where he's going to want to spend all of his time with his friends though. Watch when school starts he won't even notice me." Zoey says brushing her blonde hair.

"So how are you and I going to tell Dustin the news on our situation?" Chase asks.

"I don't know Chase. And will you stop calling it a 'situation'? I'm knocked up, DEAL WITH IT!" Zoey snaps. She walks out of their room and down the hall to Quinn and Logan's room. She knocks on the door and waits for someone to open it.

Quinn and Logan both groan at the knock. "Coming." Quinn says rolling her eyes. She opens the door and sees an annoyed Zoey. "What's wrong?"

"Chase!" Zoey complains.

"What's going on now?" Quinn asks letting Zoey into their room. Logan sits on their bed and sighs.

"He can't even say that I'm pregnant. He just says 'our situation'!" Zoey complains.

"Zoey, Logan and I still sometimes call it that. I don't see the big deal." Quinn says honestly.

"The big deal is Chase can't accept it. Logan at least accepted it and took responsibility for it. Chase just can't!" Zoey whines.

"Zoey, I'm going to let you in on a little secret about Chase." Logan starts. "Ever since we were little, Chase has had a hard time accepting hard things. Like when his grandmother died, or when he was the lowest grade in out 6th grade math class. He takes a lot longer to accept things than normal people. So give him some more time."

"How much more time? Until this baby pops out of me?" Zoey asks angrily.

"Maybe. Who really knows?" Logan says. "Look take just him to your appointment today, make it special for just the two of you and he'll come around."

"But I want Quinn and Lola there too." Zoey whines.

"Zoey, I get that, but if you want Chase to really see that this is happening, make it just the two of you!" Logan tells the angry blonde. "The four of us will be here when you get back." Logan tells her.

"He's right Zoey, that's the best way for you to get though to him. And Lola and I will always be there for you and your baby. No matter what it cost or if you keep it or not." Quinn tells her.

"Alright, alright. I'll go tell Lola to stay here." Zoey says walking out of Quogan's room.

"Can we just have one day where it's not so weird when we're with our friends?" Logan asks sitting Quinn down next to him.

"Baby it's our friends and our lives, I don't think normals in our vocabulary." Quinn tells him.

"Do you always have to be right?" Logan asks.

"Logan, I am a genius." Quinn jokes. "Speaking of, when we get back to the house, I need you to test out my new Quinnvention."

"Which is?" Logan asks kinda scared.

"It's a virtual reality simulator, but it connects to the thoughts in your head so they can control what you see in the simulator." Quinn tells him.

"This isn't going in my head is it?" Logan asks.

"No, there's just electrodes that go on your temple that you send your brainwaves through that project the images in the helmet." Quinn explains.

"Quinn, I'm not that smart, English please?" Logan asks her.

"Little sticky pads will go on the side of your head. It will connect to your brainwaves. Then what you're imagining will become real in the virtual reality." Quinn explains.

"Thank you. And this won't explode will it?" Logan asks.

"Hopefully not." Quinn says.

"QUINN!" Logan warns.

"You'll be fine!" Quinn replies.

"Quinn! I don't wanna die, before I get a chance to walk our baby girls down the aisle." Logan tells her.

"You won't!" Quinn tries to reassure him.

Meanwhile 2 hours later at Choey's appointment...

"So why aren't the girls here?" Chase asks holding Zoey's hand in the waiting room.

"Because I changed my mind, alright?" Zoey asks annoyed.

"Zoey Brooks." The nurse calls. Chase and Zoey get up and walk towards the back with the nurse. She takes Zoey's weight and blood pressure. She walks Zoey back into the ultrasound room and has Zoey hop up onto the cot. "The doctor will be in shortly."

"Thanks." Zoey says as she watches the nurse leave. Chase is still gripping Zoey's hand. "Chase it's okay to be nervous."

"Who me? I'm not nervous." The bushy haired boy lies.

"Really?" Zoey says lifting their hands up. You can clearly see Chase gripping a little harder than Zoey.

"Sorry." Chase says letting go.

"You didn't need to let go Chase. It was just an observation." Zoey says right when the doctor knocks.

"HI Zoey, I'm doctor Burlington." She greets. "Let's have a look here shall we?" Zoey nods. "Great I'm going to need you to lay down on your back and lift up your shirt." Zoey obeys. Doctor Burlington squeezes the cold gel onto Zoey's stomach which causes her to flinch. Zoey clenches Chase's hand and Dr. Burlington moves the probe around her stomach. "Well only good news today. The baby does look healthy and has a very healthy heartbeat."

"Thanks doc." Chase says avoiding eye contact and avoiding looking at the screen.

"I'll leave you two alone for a minute while I go print out the photos." Dr. Burlington says. She gets up and hands Zoey a paper towel. She leaves the room and makes sure the door is shut behind her.

"Come on Chase, just look at the screen at least." Zoey pleads.

"If I do, then I becomes real." Chase tells her.

"Chase it is real. This is really happening to us and we're not alone in this happening." Zoey tells him. "It's really happening to Logan and Quinn too."

Chase nods and slowly moves his eyes to the screen. He bows his head in shame once his eyes fully take in what's on the screen. "I'm sorry Zoey."

"For what?" Zoey asks.

"For ruining your life like this. For yelling at you when I shouldn't have. I'm sorry for all of this happening." The words fly out of Chase's mouth before he can even comprehend them.
