Anna wondered down the stairs, her small feet gliding across the cool floor of the kitchen, the cold making her shiver as she strood in the kitchen and stopped in front of the fridge. Ally was still sick and asleep, but Anna's tummy was growling for food, her small body telling her she needed food and soon, her stomach churning as it passed another second without getting food. She pulled at the fridge door, but her small figure made it difficult seeing as the door was really hard to pull. Anna pouted and frowned, glaring at the door. After a few more tries, she decided to ditch the fridge and headed to the closet, the task of opening the door slightly a bit easier. The problem was that all the good food was on the shelves way above her. This was not good.

Anna looked around the kitchen, hopping to find something that would help her up, but as she looked, she froze, her ears perking up as she heard a noise. What was that? Anna stood really still and listened, the noise now sounding more like music. Anna smiled a small smile, her small feet dragging her towards the sound without her realizing. As she got closer to the music, she felt her smile widened, the upbeat music coursing through her body. She liked how it was uplifting and yet it was still calming and soothing.

Forgetting about her hunger enough to keep walking, Anna walked into the a room only to see it full of different instruments and microphones - Anna fell in love, the colors and the instruments around the room making it seem bright and uplifting, nothing like what her house used to look like at Mrs. Freed's place. Her blue eyes watched as Dinah concentrated on her music, her back turned to the door, and her head bobbing along with the music. Anna walked further into the room carefully and stopped at Dinah's right side, her small face looking at her momma's face. She smiled as she saw her with her eyes closed, a small tranquil smile planted firmly on her face, her body relaxed and moving with ease along with the music, her hands flying over the keys like magic. Anna was completely transfixed in the ease and soothingness that flowed through the room, surprising Anna of how something so simplistic as music caused her to feel happy, calm, and safe  all in one.

"Hey, baby girl," Anna heard, her eyes springing open to stare shyly into her momma's brown eyes. Anna watched as Dinah smiled warmly at her and waited for Anna to realize everything was okay and that she wasn't going to hurt her or get angry at her for listening to her play the piano. Anna smiled shyly as a form of greeting.

"Wanna help me play?" Dinah asked after a few moments in silence, watching as Anna's blue eyes scanned the big black instrument in front of her. Dinah chuckled as Anna nodded her head shyly and stared at her with big blue innocent eyes. "Come sit next to me, I'll teach you some," Dinah said, helping Anna unto the bench next to her.

"Ready, baby girl? Dinah said, looking down at her daughter, smiling as she saw Anna's small hands copy her own, "okay so let's start with the easiest. Get your finger like this," Dinah said, extending her pointer finger and extending it, causing Anna to giggle and did the same. "And now you press a key." Dinah pressed one of the low ones as Anna pressed a high key, the contrasting sounds ringing together.

"You're very talented, chica! You might be better than me, guuuurl," Dinah said with a giggle, flipping her hair dramatically, her daughter giggling along side her, her small body bouncing in her seat, excited at hearing the note she produced.

"Okay, now try this one," Dinah said, as she hit three keys back to back. Anna giggled and copied her momma, laughing as her momma gasped in surprise.

"That was amazing, baby girl." Dinah smiled proudly down at her daughter. Dinah leaned down to look at Anna eye to eye and saying, "Wanna feel something really cool?"

Anna nodded her head, standing on her seat carefully as her mother instructed her.

"Okay, put your hands right here," Dinah said, helping Anna reach just above the keys without falling, "and now just focus on the feel of your hands." Dinah said as she began to play "Mary Had a Littile Lamb," the vibrations of the piano flowing through her small hands and up her arms.

"Can you feel the music?" Dinah asked, smiling as her daughter focused on the vibrations the piano was producing as she played the song.

Anna nodded, smiling as she felt each key against her palm. It felt like she was connected with the music, as if she was able to understand what each one ment, but of course it wasn't something she fully understand seeing as her young age held little experience with anything really. She was learning new things each day with her mommies, and this was one that stood out.

"Music," Dinah began, her fingers now playing a different tune, "isn't just sound or voices; people can connect to music in so many different ways." Dinah began to play more complicated fragments of songs, her eyes now concentrating on the keys. "You can feel it - like you are right now. You can feel how fast it's going," Dinah sped up slightly, "or you can feel how slow its going," Dinah slowed down this time, "You can hear it. When you sing," Dinah played a few keys and sang a verse of Anna's song.

"Together we will fly away in a cloud of green

To your beautiful destiny"

"And you can hear it when you play a note." Dinah continued to play the song, letting the music course through her and letting her mind go, the music flowing through the room in a carefree tone. "You can read music and be able to relate to it, the words reaching out to you. Music is powerful, reaching the souls of many, and you never know, some people may use music to heal."

Anna was now sitting down again, listening as her momma talked about music with love and adoration in her eyes. Anna thought about what her mother was saying and how music can help people heal, and all she thought was her song. She didn't know it by memory yet, but when she heard it, she felt better and most importantly, she felt hope.

"And even if you don't want to speak yet," Dinah said looking down at Anna, who ducted her head in shame, sad that she couldn't make her momma happy, "you can make music and connect to it just as well, you just have to feel it in here," Dinah finished, lifting Anna's head with her finger in her chin, smiling as sad blue eyes focused on her own; Dinah pointed to her where her heart was and said, "you just gotta make sure you feel it right here, even if it's just for you or if it's for millions of people. No matter what, make sure that you feel it in your heart - no one can stop you from doing anything."

Dinah smiled at her daughter lovingly, comfortable silence falling between them as they both enjoyed the moment - Dinah marveling at the moment they just had and being able to connect with her daughter on an emotional level. It was inturupted by a loud growl, Anna's blue-gray eyes widening as she remembered her hunger, her small hands coming to rub over her belly. Dinah laughed and helped Anna off the bench and walked her into the kitchen, making conversation and giggling as they made sandwhiches. Anna looked at Dinah, smiling in relief as she found herself trusting Dinah more than her momma knew; and what Anna didn't realize in that moment was that she already trusted the girls, she just had to listen to the music.

"I realized I finally had a family..."
