You sigh as you enter your apartment, kicking your shoes off, and allowing your bag to crash to the floor, not really caring too much about the tablet that was inside. You flop onto the sofa, your head hanging back with your eyes shut.
Today was exhausting. You'd felt so awful for Ren, his eye had gradually swollen to the extent he couldn't see out of it anymore while waiting to see the doctors at the hospital, but he'd sat there without complaining, only ever really mentioning the odd woe he had about Sota, and how he wished he'd been better, braver.
You'd tried your best to soothe him, to make him feel better, but you were no Sota, and weren't really too good with words. You'd succeeded in getting a few dry laughs from him, though and that was the next best thing to you.

A small peck on your lips makes them upturn, you slowly opening your eyes to see Keigo's soft gaze resting on you as he pulls away, his red wings blocking out your view of anything else but his face.
"Hey dove."
"Hi." You say, your eyes following him as he sits next to you. "How was work?"
"Boring." He groans, his own head rolling back. "It was all 'no more jumping out of normal windows, Hawks', 'no more bringing your girlfriend here, Hawks', 'no more stealing handcuffs, Hawks.'"
You choke on the air, looking over at him in horror. "You stole them?!"
His golden eyes glimmer mischievously. "No comment."

You shake your head in disbelief, your face turning a little pink as you realise precisely what it is he just said, his carefree smile ever-present as he looks at you. His eyes move over to your bag laying over by the kitchen.
"Hey dove, did you get that take out?" He asks softly, his avian eyes moving over to yours again, a curious look on his face.
"Oh man." You sigh, your head falling back again. "I'm sorry, Keigs. I totally forgot."
"That's okay!" He says cheerfully, his chin weighing down on your shoulder. "Busy day today?"
"Kind of." You reply, torn between telling him about Ren and not.

"I'll order something now." He says, kissing your cheek softly before pulling his phone out.
"Thank you." You practically whisper.
"What do you want?" He asks, putting the phone in your hand. "You choose."
You stare at the phone, blinking at it as though it would eventually disappear. Junichiro had been so secretive about his phone, there was no way that he would have ever allowed you to have the freedom to actually even hold it. Whereas Keigo had left it in your palm, roaming around the apartment as though he didn't have a care in the world.
You scroll through the options, picking out the cheapest thing you'd like, your own version of apologizing after saying you'd sort out dinner tonight.
"Keig-" A feather takes the phone straight out of your hand, returning it to Keigo's hand as he sits at the kitchen island.

"Is that all?" He asks, a frown on his face as he turns around to face you.
You hum, closing your eyes again.
A feather brushes over your nose, making you scrunch your face up and open your eyes to look at Keigo, who happened to be crouching in front of you.
"What's wrong?" He asks, his hand stroking your cheek tenderly as his eyes search your own.
"I'm fine." You say. "It's just been a long day."
He cocks his head, looking back down at the phone in his hand.
"Spring rolls aren't enough to eat for a long day."
"Don't start, Keigs." You sigh.
"I never stopped." He says. "Come on, talk to me."

He moves beside you, pulling your head to his chest and wrapping his wings around you, placing the phone back in your head.
"Find something else while you tell me what's up."
"I really just wanted to make it as inexpensive as possible..." You murmur, looking at the phone screen as is dims itself underneath Keigos wing.
"Y/N, I have more money than I know what to do with. Just get something else, please." He sighs.
You scroll through the options again, a little reluctantly before letting out a little sigh.
