As Rose laid her head back against the chair, she closed her eyes and focused on the chatter going on around her. They were in the middle of getting all the makeup, hairdos, manicures and pedicures done, and the five of them had been having a really good time so far.
Rose had no idea how funny Mallory actually was, or how much she would enjoy having Piper around, yet when she peeked an eye open to watch as her family laughed amongst themselves, she couldn't help the smile that curled itself across her lips, much like a cat finding a warm place to sleep.
"Hey," Lily's melodic voice tickled her ears, and Rose drew her head toward the brunette.
"How are you feeling?" She asked softly, eyeing Rose up and down.
Rose sighed contentedly, "I'm doing really good actually. This was more fun than I thought it would be. Usually it's just Evelyn and I"
Lily grinned. "I'm really glad. You know.. That I could be here.. Be a part of this"
Rose reached a hand out to her friend, stretching that olive branch even further. Lily curled her palm against Rose's and squeezed lightly. "Thank you"
Rose nodded, "I'm glad you're here too. And Piper. I really like her"
Lily's eyes brightened as she looked over at her wife, who was currently getting her makeup done. "Me too"
Rose blushed, making Lily laugh even harder. "I know what you meant though. I like Oliver.. He's a really good guy"
Rose dropped Lily's hand so she could twist the engagement ring around her finger. "He really is, isn't he?"
"How's the little one doing?" Lily asked, motioning towards Rose's swollen belly.
"She's wonderful. Growing really well, and no problems since.. " Rose choked on the words, not able to finish her sentence. She sucked her lip under her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Hey," She felt Lily's hand softly rub her arm, "It's ok. And you're doing a wonderful job. And this is your wedding day, so no more tears, ok?"
Rose peeked up at her friend through blurry eyes, nodding along with her.
"Yeah," She finally breathed out, attempting a slight smile. "How's the music coming along? Record a new single yet?"
Lily shook her head, suppressing a light giggle, "It's coming along. But uh, I've been working on another project.. One a little closer to my heart right now"
Rose's brows snapped together in confusion as she caught the way Lily looked over at Piper. "Lil?" She asked, her tone light, but inquisitive. "Are you...?"
Lily followed Rose's eyes which were now focused over her stomach, where her hands rested. "Oh...no.." Lily said rather loudly, gaining the attention of everyone at that point.
She blushed, and shook her head, completely tongue tied. "I uh.. Sorry.."
Piper winked at her, before turning to ask Evelyn a question, effectively distracting her and Mallory so Lily could have a moment.
Rose wasn't as convinced, and pressed her further. "Lily.. Tell me the truth right now. It's my wedding day! I deserve to know"
Lily arched a brow, "Oh you do, do you?"
Rose laughed, "Come on" She whined, "I hate secrets"
Lily rolled her eyes as she pinched her lips together. "Fine. But I wanted to wait. So don't be mad, ok?"
"Why would I be mad?" Rose asked honestly.
"Because it's your day.. Not mine"
Rose sighed. "Lil.. Wedding day or not, I plan on spending my life with Oliver. This day isn't any different than the rest. As far as I'm concerned, this is just so Evelyn can throw a party"
