'The bridge,' I thought as I was crying in my room. 'I could run to the bridge.' I quickly grabbed my sneakers and burst out the front door, tears streaming down my face. I ran all the way there and then when I was sitting close to the edge again, I stopped. My heart was broken but I needed to give it the chance to heal, I realized. I backed away slowly from the edge but my foot slipped. I screamed as I gripped the metal, trying to pull myself back up. Suddenly a hand took mine and pulled me back up and onto the road. I turned around, expecting to see Jack but instead I saw Ross, the guy who was known for his bad boy reputation.
"Woah there," he said. "You almost fell off of the bridge!"
I clenched my jaw. "Yeah. Thanks for pulling me back up." I started to back away from him. I'd heard stories about him and they weren't good ones.
"Well, well, well...what do we have here?" he said quietly, walking towards me. He kept looking at me strangely.
"S-Stay away from me..." I stuttered out.
"Scared, are we?" Ross grabbed me, moving his lips towards mine as I tried to squirm free of his grip.
"Let me go!" I yelled.
"Come on! You don't wanna have some fun?!" Ross said, his grip on me tightening.
"No." I muttered as I broke free.
I started running towards Jacks house when I realized he was chasing me. He was faster than me but not by much. I ran with all my heart but when I was just outside of Jacks house, Ross grabbed me.
"Why don't we go back to my place" he said with a devious smile.
"Haven't you ever heard of personal space?!" I yelled, pushing him away from me.
"Come on Amanda, let's get away from here..." Ross was walking towards me again.
Suddenly the front door opened, revealing Jack.
"What the hell is going on?!" he yelled. His eyes were wide with anger, pointed directly at Ross.
Ross didn't seem to notice Jack because he just kept walking towards me.
"I said LET ME GO!" I screamed as I punched Ross in the face.
"Feisty," Ross said. "I like them feisty!"
Jack jumped in front of me, beating Ross up for me.
When he was done Jack looked down at Ross who was laying on the ground and simply said, "That's no way to treat a lady."

A few days later, Ross returned to school...but no without the black eye and fat lip that Jack gave him.
The story traveled around the school pretty fast, so I noticed a lot of people giving me strange and dirty looks in the hallways. The cafeteria would have been a catastrophe, so I decided to spend my lunch in the library. I know that I should've been studying for my calculus test that I had right after lunch, but instead I sat in the corner and cried. I cried until the warning bell rang, signalling that classes would soon start for the afternoon. I started to stand up, but someone pushed me back down. I looked up. It was Ross.
"I don't want any trouble..." I muttered out.
"Oh, I'm not going to hurt you. No I would never do that. But I just thought you should know that Jack hooked up with another girl last night." Ross said quietly.
"Why should I trust anything you say?" I said, avoiding eye contact as I stood up.
"Here's a reason," he said as his eyes met mine. "That girl was my sister."
He moved to the side to reveal Claire, his sister.
Claire just looked at the ground, tears sliding down her cheeks.
"Is-Is this true?" I asked cautiously.
Claire looked at me.
"Yes." she choked out.
They weren't lying. Oh god, they weren't lying.
I just started at them before leaving.
Tears were escaping from my eyes as I passed people who were on their way to their next classes. I saw Jack. I saw him wave at me. I didn't see anything else because I ran into a stall in the girls bathroom and that's where I stayed, silently bawling my eyes out, for the rest of the day.

Sooooo yeah...that just happened! I hope you guys are loving the story as much as I am! Remember to vote and comment!!!!! ❤️
