(Y/n) POV)
Sukuna squats down in front of me before pulling me up by the back of my shirt.
Sukuna: "Come on now... at least try to fight back." He throws me into the wall back first causing me to spit up blood. His fist then meets my stomach as more blood comes out. I managed to dodge the next attack by a hair using my fire. Sadly it wouldn't do much for me as Sukuna immediately was right in front of me again. He kicked me in the chest hard sending me into the wall again. I feel bones crack in my back and not in a good way. I black out for a second before seeing Sukuna staring at me in disappointment. "You're strong... so why don't you fight? You'll die if you don't, and you know that. So why aren't you fighting back?"
"I... I... I don't... know... For some... weird reason... I can't fight..."
Sukuna: "How sad... looks like we're gonna have another Verona situation." I feel my eyes widen as rage takes hold.
"WHAT?!" Sukuna laughs.
Sukuna: "Don't get me wrong. I didn't kill her... but I know who did." I push myself up ignoring the pain in my back.
"Who?"
Sukuna: "Well I won't be telling you that." I stand as flames begin to burst up around us. A blade of flames forms in my hand as I kick Sukuna back.
"Then I'll beat it out of you!" I rush forward leaving a trail of flames and swing my blade towards him. Then again this is Sukuna. He raises his hand and catches my fire blade.
Sukuna: "How disappointing." He punches me in the gut harder than he did before as my consciousness fades. Only darkness surrounded me.
(Unknown amount of time later)
I feel my eyes opening only for me to be in a dark room. I didn't know where I was, but I did know that I most likely wasn't in a safe place. I slowly stood and inspected the room. It looked like an old stone cell you see in horror movies. I walked over to a metal door and attempted to open it. Thankfully, it was unlocked. As I opened the door it looked like only empty space was on the other side. I looked out and slowly stepped onto the empty area. Surprisingly it felt like there was an actual floor there. As I fully walked away from the door I heard a noise behind me. I turned to see that the room had completely disappeared.
'Where am I? Am I alive? Is everyone else okay? Do they even know where I am? Do they even know if I'm alive? There're too many questions with so little answers. Gojo-sensei... do you know where I am? I don't know why... but I feel like if anyone would know, it'd be you. Sis... I hope you're okay. I'm sorry that I left you.' My wounds were really getting to me. I looked around before picking a random direction. I stumbled around as I walked. I quickly ducked as something flew over my head. I looked as a snake like curse slithered towards me. I held my hand out and disintegrated the curse with heavy flames. I looked at the ashes of the snake curse floating in a different direction from where I was walking. I don't know why, but something told me to follow them, so I did. The eventually disappeared as another curse stood before me. "So I'm in a maze... How annoying." I pull out a juice box and drink it as I side step the new curse. This one looked like an ape. I made a large hammer of fire and swung it directly on top of the things head. It groggily stands again as I bring down the hammer once more, exorcising it. I stumble after the ashes again that had changed direction once more. I felt blood begin to spill from my lips and forehead again. "Sukuna... you really did a number on me... Damnit!" I continued to follow until a drop found its way to my feet. It looked like a wormhole. The ashes of the curse went down the hole though. 'This is a predicament. You know what... fuck it.' I drop down the hole only to fall into what I could only hope was water. I swim over a temple like structure where a woman was standing. She looked like she was expecting me.
???: "It's good to see you again, (Y/n)." I climbed out of the "water", and looked up at her. She looked so familiar. Wait... don't tell me.
"V-Verona... is that you?" She smiles and walks over to me. She helps me stand before throwing me over to the temple. I rolled along the ground before slowly standing.
Verona: "I'm sorry (Y/n)... I don't want to do this. I never wanted to lie to you, but I'm not human."
"What are you talking about?"
Verona: "The truth is... I'm a curse." My eyes widen as I look up at her. "I did a bunch of horrible things before I met you. Yet, you changed me for the better. So... thank you for that. Where you are right now is my domain." She paused for a moment before walking up to me. "The only way to leave is to kill me."
"HUH?!"
Verona: "We have to fight. I don't want to die, but if I didn't bring you here you would've been killed by Sukuna. I'm sorry for leaving you, but I had no choice. It's hard to contain the desires to kill. So please... when we fight... don't hold back." I look down and let fire begin to surround me.
"Verona... I don't want to kill you... but... I can't leave sis by herself."
Verona: "I'm not going to make it easy for you (Y/n). It'll be like old times. I remember when I helped train you to use your cursed energy correctly. The only difference is... this isn't training." Verona rushes at me at crazy speeds forcing me to block the punch she was about throw. I stumbled back but immediately went back on the offensive. We traded punches and kicks but neither could get the upper hand. "You've definitely gotten stronger. I'm glad!" She smiles before appearing behind me, and thrusting her palm into the middle of my back. "But you're not strong enough yet. You won't beat me as you are now. So if you want to live you must surpass your limits! Break through what you previously thought was the barrier to your power! Show me the power of the fire that burns within!" I felt my body heat up as I began to move faster. I didn't have the time to respond. She's stronger than me. I can't afford to make any mistakes.
'This isn't looking good. Think (Y/n)! Think! What chances do I have to win?' Verona sped up again and multiple cuts and bruises appeared on my body. Blood was covering me at this point. I then took a kick to the chest which sent me rolling backwards. I stood and rushed at Verona. I sent a hawk of fire towards her while I followed. She blocked the bird easily while I threw a punch. A flash of black flames appeared on my hands as I landed the strike. Her eyes widen as she got knocked back. I continued to throw punches and kicks. A few of them having that same black flame appear. 'I don't know what those black flames mean... but they seem to be doing damage.'
Verona: "You can use Black Flash?"
"Huh?"
Verona: "Those black flames... that's Black Flash. It's when you apply cursed energy into your attacks in a millionth of a second."
"So that's why they do more damage?"
Verona: "Yeah... that's something I struggle with. Yet, here you are, this is getting fun." She smiled as we went back at it again. Black lightning came from some of her attacks as black flames came from some of mine. We were on similar footing right now. Each of us using Black Flash to the best of our abilities. We both then landed a punch on each other's cheek sending both of us stumbling. I was breathing heavily as I struggled to stay upright. Verona was breathing heavy, but I was way worse for ware.
Verona: "Let's get serious." The whole aura of the battlefield changed as she rushed me again. I had to take a defensive position as she sent blow after blow my way. I did manage to counter some of her attacks, but her durability seemed to increase ten-fold.
"If that's how you want to play it." A coat of flames formed on me as we began to fight more seriously.
Verona: "So the coat has come out to play." I formed brass knuckles of fire on my hands. I felt the heat increase in my body as the flames turned into a blue color. We collided once more as both of us couldn't maintain the upper hand for long. I threw every punch and kick I could, but Verona would come right back and throw an even harder one. I felt my hands beginning to burn from the heat of the knuckles, but I couldn't afford to slow down now. Verona began to laugh as she formed a katana in her hand out of seemingly nothing.
"Well then... this is getting a whole lot more interesting. I haven't seen that in a while." Verona's laugh settles into a smirk as we rush each other again. I punch the blade of the katana knocking it back slightly only for Verona to quickly alter her attack pattern. This allowed her to get a clean slash onto my abdomen. Blood spilled from the wound, and to make matters worse I coughed up more blood as well. The cloak itself then turned to a blue flame as I pushed my limits even farther. I threw punch after punch into her before forming boots of blue flames on my feet. I ran after her flying body and kicked her back into the ground hard. She rebounded and landed on her feet easily before sending a slash of glitchy energy my way. I formed a wall of fire in front of me the blocked the attack as I continued to pursue her. As I neared we entered another clash. I held her blade in my hands as she steadily applied more and more pressure. I was breathing heavily as the blood loss was really starting to get to me.
Verona: "You seem to be struggling (Y/n). What's wrong? Can't keep up?" She smiles gleefully as she spins around and kicks me hard in the side. I stumble but stand my ground as she tries to do a follow up slash. I chuckle as I spin my body and punch as hard as I could. An eruption of black flames shatters the blade as Verona's eyes widen. I then immediately followed up with a deadly right hook to the temple as the black flames erupted once more. I rushed after her flying body as I managed to get behind her. I jumped and kicked her in the back hard with yet another eruption of black flames. Four more attacks continued. Each one erupting with black flames. I let out a roar as I brought down an overhand strike as her body flew in my direction. A final eruption of black flames sends her crashing to the ground, unmoving. I stand there for a few seconds breathing heavily before she slowly begins to stand.
"What? You can still stand?" Verona kneeled as she put her hands together. Her pinky and ring fingers laced together as she made her middle fingers form an X. Her index fingers pressed together as she spoke out.
Verona: "Domain Expansion: Galactic Oblivion." The area around me instantly disappears as it almost seems like I'm in the middle of a galaxy. Planetoids, asteroids, you name it. It was beautiful, but I couldn't focus on that right now. "This is the end for you (Y/n). I'm sorry it had to be this way." Several planetoids began flying my way as Verona waved her hands in my direction. It felt like I was floating, but I could still move.
"It looks like it's do or die. I only have one chance at this." Verona looks at me confused. "I don't even know if I'm strong enough to do it, but that doesn't matter! My life is on the line here and I refuse to die! No matter what I won't die here! I won't allow this to be where I take my last breaths!" I place my hands together before lacing the fingers on my left hand with my right. Yet I kept my right hands fingers up. "Domain Expansion: 10th Circle of Hell!" A pentagram formed under me before everything exploded into hell fire. Brimstone lined the floor of a small island surrounded by magma as Verona looked around petrified.
Verona: "This isn't even complete! How is it stronger than mine!" I lowered my hands slowly as I giant brimstone titan lifts itself up from the magma pools surrounded the small island we stood on.
"I don't know honestly. I'm sorry Verona... but this is where it ends." A tear rolls down her cheek.
Verona: "Please don't forget about the good times we had together."
"I won't. Even if you die here you'll remain in my heart forever." She smiles as the brimstone titan brings down its massive hand and crushes the curse girl. My domain closes as does Verona's, and I find myself bleeding in the middle of a forest. I feel my conscious fade again as I sigh. 'I want a juice box.' Darkness...
