Slowly but surely I calmed myself backdown and we ended up laying next to each other on the bed with my head on her shoulder.
My hands were incased in hers while she played with my fingers and I figured it was time to tell her.
"After you left.."
I had explained that I was on new medication and my twitches had gotten a lot worse.
I now go for therapy every Sunday instead of once every three weeks like I used too.
"But other then that I've been working really hard on staying still and paying attention for long time spans."
All I could see was a single tear run down her cheek as she kissed my forehead.
"If I would've known I would have come home and been with you, I hope you know that."
She stared right into my eyes as she talked and all I could do was nod.
I felt myself starting to lose focus and I could feel a fit of ticks coming on so I quickly got up and ran into my bathroom down the hall and locked the door.
I didn't want her to have to see this.
I couldn't see that well because my eyelids were clamping shut repeatedly so I slid down the door and ended up on the floor.
My shoulder kept raising and slightly hitting my head as it jerked up and down.
The only way is to wait for it to stop and it usually only lasts a minute or two, I could feel it was almost over when I heard a bang on the door.
"Oh my god Maddy are you okay, what's happening baby open the door."
It was kind of hard to speak in this state so I managed to croak out an "Im okay".
That didn't stop her from pounding on the door and trying to get in but from afar I can hear my parents calming her down.
"Mommy what's happening?"
She begged and pleaded for answers through her tears but all my mom could've done was waited.
"Hey Hun, Mila, she'll be okay. She always is, things are different now but she knows what to do. She needs some time to get herself together and Dr.Mia said she needs to learn to cope herself. Lets go downstairs and get a cup of coffee okay."
Her cries went to sniffles and I could hear their footsteps walk away and downstairs into the kitchen.
It had finally stopped and like usual I took a moment to get control of my breathing and look semi-presentable.
I walked downstairs and into the kitchen and all eyes went to me.
My mom caught my eyes and I nodded and mouthed 'red pill'. They help control the ticks when they get especially bad, but sometimes it causes me to be a bit sleepy.
She had gotten up and my dad had excused himself to go watch the ballgame on tv.
Now it was just us two sisters and she looked so sad and upset.
"Cami I promise I'm okay, I just didn't want you too see how bad it's gotten."
I looked away and avoided her gaze, I didn't want her to be disappointed.
"Hey Mads look at me"..she grabbed my chin and made me face her.."I don't want you to have to hide this, please you know I love you more then anything and I'm here now okay."
"It's embarrassing"
That's all I could manage to say.
"Look at me, you never have to be embarrassed about this, if anyone ever gives you an issue I need you to tell me. You can't control this its not your fault."
Mom had walked back in and placed a water bottle and the pill on the table then excused herself knowing we needed some time.
I quickly took the pill and look back at my sister, her face was lighting up and a grin spread across her face.
"Go upstairs and wait in my room I have an idea I just need to talk to mom and dad real quick okay?"
I nodded and ran upstairs while I can hear her ranting about something to our parents, I shrugged it off and sat on her bed and waited.
