When the police and heros arrived at the scene a very, parcilur sight awaited them.
1) Three masked men on the floor knocked out. With many injuries 2) A young man in an Aldera Junior High school uniform was blooded and beaten. 3) The young man's wounds lined up with those of the masked men.
Naomasa slowly got out of the car. His head aching already. But this was a case supposedly linked to an underground organization of criminals.
He was already briefed of the situation, but he still couldn't believe that a middle schooler was responsible for these men's injuries. But with quirks it could be possible. And by the looks of it, this kid had a pretty good one. At least, in his mind.
Naomasa prepared himself to deal with a self-centered kid. As most teens with good quirks became.
--------
There was no time to get Izuku into an interrogation room. If this was who we thought then the criminals would stick close, just waiting for the trio to report back to them.
"What happened?" Naomasa asked a basic question with infinite answers. Questions Izuku hated answering. How should he respond?
"Well.. I heard a knock at my door. And so I went to open it." Izuku started, slowly picking out his words. Eyes darting around the room back to Naomasa to make sure he wasn't saying the wrong thing.
"Then the Bakugos came, I gave them a place to stay while the other people robbed their house. And I went outside to direct Masaru. Then the criminals saw me, so I had to fight." Izuku gave a quick explanation... At least for him.
Naomasa didn't detect any lies. So he continued with the investigation. Sighing to himself internally.
"How did you fight them?" Naomasa asked, tiredly. Then began Izuku's explanation. After a few minutes Naomasa regretted his decision to ask.
"Let me rephrase that, did you use your quirk in any way?" Naomasa asked, stopping Izuku halfway through his explanation.
"Uh, sir," Izuku began, picking out words to make sure he didn't hurt the detective's ego. "Uh I'm sure you don't know this, I mean only 20% of the population is like me. But ehh, I.. Don't have a quirk.." Izuku mumbled the last bit, as if he still couldn't believe it himself. Or, perhaps it was that he didn't want to believe it.
Naomasa was caught in a difficult situation. He wanted to apologize profusely because of his thoughts, but he needed to keep professional.
"Oh, I apologize." Naomasa kept it short and simple. Izuku liked that, he didn't hear or see any judgement. And he didn't shower him with apologies, that would overwhelm him.
"It's fine." Izuku muttered out, not wanting to seem ungrateful but not wanting to agitate the man. Naomasa seemed content with that, because he went back to questioning.
--------
"Well?" Naomasa's coworker asked, as if he was expecting Izuku to have lied. Naomasa shook his head, "He didn't lie once." The coworker looked a bit shocked.
"There's no way he's quirkless! Even if he was, there's no way he took them down all by himself!" Naomasa was ticked off at this comment.
"Why? Because he's quirkless? Because he isn't dependent on a mutation? Because he's stronger than quirked people? Geez, that kinda seems quirkist." Naomasa snapped, his voice was calm but that only added to the venom lacing his words.
"How can it be quirkist if he doesn't even have a quirk?" Some criminal they took in asked, cockily, surprising for how easily he was captured.
"No wonder you got taken in so easily, you're an idiot, just like that comment was idiotic." Naomasa was going after anyone who insulted the kid, even non-directly. He didn't care if it was the symbol of peace, when Naomasa was mad there's no stopping him. Everyone knew that at this point, so they kept their mouths shut.
"We're police, we can't afford to be quirkist, we stand for justice. Not making accusations just because someone is seen as weaker in society." Naomasa almost yelled out, this was a topic he was passionate about. So he could go on and on about this for days.
"Calm down Tsukauchi." Eizo rested his hand on Naomasa's shoulder. Sighed in annoyance. "Listen up! Detective Tsukauchi is right. But, we don't need this to continue further, we have work to do." Naomasa looked down, his fists clenched. He was so frustrated, but words can't change someone's mind. Actions do, but what could be done? He wasn't quirkless, he couldn't do anything. Then, Naomasa's eyes drew to the room with Izuku in it. He wasn't quirkless, but he had someone who was, and he was in the room over.
--------
"Wait wait wait wait," Izuku muttered out, processing the information. "You want me to change the world's mind about quirkless people?" Naomasa nodded, nervously fidgeting with his fingers under the interrogation deku. "How would I even-" Izuku suddenly stopped, "I guess this incident could start it off, but it'll take more than just this one opportunity to turn around people's minds." Izuku started mumbling.
"Wait, so, are you agreeing?" Naomasa asked a little too loudly. It was clear he was excited. Izuku slightly smiled, finally at peace that someone saw him as something other than his quirk. If Izuku hadn't already agreed to this plan in his mind, he was sure he couldn't bring himself to decline after seeing this man so excited.
"Of course, it's time to change people's minds about quirkless people." Izuku beamed, his smile lighting up the room. For Naomasa a shiver ran down his spine, Izuku just beat three grown men to a pulp. And yet his smile was still so pure. Naomasa couldn't help but smile too, he had a feeling this project would work.
Naomasa held out his hand, and Izuku took his smaller hand in his. They were going to change the world. "I'll get a contract ready." Naomasa closed his eyes, the hard part was done.
"Contract?" Izuku muttered out, his heart ached. Had this been a setup? Would this contract be unfair?
"Of course, I wouldn't want the other police to cheat you out of what you deserve." Naomasa grinned, opening the door, and leaving it open for Izuku. "Don't worry, I'll have you read over it. And if you have any suggestions let me know."
"Well, I do have a few ideas."
