Sabrina entered Arthur's office looking quite sleek with her white blouse which had a golden chain at the neck and was tucked into a royal blue trousers with a pair of combat boots. Her brownish black hair was naturally straight but she had curled it to fit her oblong face.
" Good day, Mr. Diez", she greeted.
" Yeah, how are you doing?" asked Arthur in return.
" I've brought the request forms from the Sales and Marketing Department."
" Oh, please drop it here", Arthur said, signalling her to put it by his computer. Arthur's desk was very crowdy. It had plenty files and document on the left side, right side and some even on his computer keyboard. " I'll go through and send it to Marcus before noon." , Arthur said as he took it and glanced through.
" Ok that will be all Sabrina, you can excuse yourself."
"Ok sir", Sabrina said as she exited the office.
Arthur, as he was going through the forms, realized something really strange but not unfamiliar. There had been a constant increment in the request of certain drugs that are quite addictive.
" Saint Mariah Hospital- 1000 boxes of Xanax"
" Saint Mariah has been ordering only 500 boxes. But it seems that it has increased in the near past.", He said to himself.
He then walked to his cabinet and looked through for the Saint Mariah request forms. He discovered that for the past five years, the order has been 1000 boxes but he quiet remembered in the genesis of the company that Saint Mariah had been ordering 500 boxes consistently.
" What changed?" thought Arthur. Arthur then quickly brushed off the thought and packed the forms back into the cabinet, went to his coat hanger and grabbed his lab coat. He then walked out of his office , walked towards the elevator, pressed the button, entered and headed towards the workhouse which was a floor lower.
Immediately the elevator opened, he stepped out and grabbed a nose mask, goggles and a pair of gloves. He glanced all over the room filled with the smell of scientist working their way into making drugs. Arthur, even though he was a pharmacist needed not to be in the main manufacturing area. He was the boss of operations. He was literally sharing the position as head of the company with Vicky just that, Vicky took care of the monetary, marketing and sales aspect, whilst he dealt with the actual making of the drugs. But still, he wasn't proud. He would come down to the factories and help them. That kept him from forgetting the knowledge he had in pharmacy.
He walked around the room, monitoring the computers, the amount of chemicals that went into the drugs and asked the workers questions to inquire more and to test their knowledge. When he got tired and he so that everyone there was tired too, he ordered that the production should be paused and he said,
" Go for break everyone!"
This was why everyone liked him. He always put himself in their shoes, thinking about their welfare and wellbeing unlike Vicky, who was bossy, disrespectful and never regarded the workers as people.
