The car came to a stop and the boys got out of the car to come open the door and help us out. I was surprised to see that the casino was being held inside an actual elegant building.

I thought it would be in the clubhouse.

no offense to them, lol.

"C'mon follow me." He grabbed my hand and I followed him as we split off from Travis and April.

We walked over to one of the Russian roulette tables. I could tell most of the guys standing around the table were members from the clubhouse by the way that they greeted him.

He grabbed my hand and lightly squeezed it pulling me in front of him. I smiled awkwardly at them. I don't know why but I was so nervous.

They were all staring hard. Like they were trying to over analyze me.

"This is Simone. She's uh," he looked down at me and grinned, scratching the back of his neck with his free hand. "My girlfriend."

"Way to go, Ri." One of the older guys exclaimed  loudly while slapping him on the back, making him smile widely.

My face heated up a bit and I kept looking around trying to avoid eye contact.

"Simone this is Lars. Club President."

He grinned at me, a silver tooth showing. He stuck his hand out for me to shake and I shook it.

"Alright, I'll be back over later. I'm gonna take pretty to go get a drink over at the bar."

"So girlfriend, huh? I don't remember a date or being asked to be anyone's girlfriend." I question once we get to the bar.

He shakes his head while chuckling. He pulled the bar stool out for me and I sat down. "You'll see soon."

"What drink do you want?" He tries to change the subject with that sweet southern drawl of his.

I roll my eyes. "You're not slick Ari Casey Hendrix."

"Whoa." He put his hands up in a playful manner. "Watch out with the full government name. We don't know whose around here." He joked.

I laugh to the point that I felt like I couldn't breathe. It was to the point that my laugh was contagious and he joined in, too.

whole time the joke wasn't even that funny

The bartender sat a glass of champagne in front of me and a beer in front of Ari.

While our laughing was dying down, April was walking over towards us. She sat down, taking the empty seat next to me.

"I have to tell you something." She whispered in my ear.

"What?"

She looked over at Ari and gestured with her eyes that she couldn't tell me around him.

"We'll be back we're going to the bathroom." I stand up from my seat, taking the last swig of my champagne.

"Everything good?"

"Yeah," I grab my purse. "We're just going to the bathroom real quick."

He nods and April grabs my hand as she leads me to the bathroom. As soon as we stepped in the bathroom April began spilling.

"Tell me why I just saw Hazel and she was with that girl Sarah."

Honestly I wasn't surprised. I had a feeling something like this would happen. If she wanted her friend to come with us that's all she had to say.

She clearly knows something that we don't.

I only shook my head and sat my purse on the counter. I took my lip gloss out and reapplied some to my lips to busy myself.

"She's weird for that. At this point I don't even care anymore." I shrugged it off.

If she wanted to act funny she could do that but she wasn't about to do it in my face.

"But that's not even the funny part. I asked Trav if he knew the Sarah girl and he said she used to fuck around with Ari."

My head jerked back a little with my face scrunched up. So that's why she wasn't bringing her around. I hopeeee this girl didn't know about Sarah and Ari's history.

cus one thing abt me...I'm quick to cut somebody off and shit not sitting right with me spirit.

"Of course he did." I mumbled under my breath.

I ran a hand through my hair before putting my lip gloss back in my purse.

We walked out of the bathroom and made our way back to the bar. I sat back down next to Ari and April went back over to Travis.

"What's going on?"

I only shake my head no. It was no reason for me to drag it out anymore if i already said I was over it.

Plus I had no place to question him about Sarah. We're not even in a relationship and I would be doing too much on my part. But he did claim me as his so I technically do have a right to question him.

I seen her little pasty ass around the clubhouse before, too.

He didn't press on and only stood up from his seat, grabbing my hand. "C'mon we're not sittin' here bored. We could've stayed home to do that."

I stand up and follow his lead. "Which one you wanna play first?"

I stifled a laugh. "You do know I don't know how to play any of these games?"

"Your family is rich as fuck and they never taught you casino games? C'mon pretty you serious?" He taunted playfully.

I rolled my eyes with a small grin etching onto my face. "Yes, is there a problem?"

"No." he chuckled, wrapping his arm around my waist.

We were walking over towards the Blackjack table when my eyes wandered over to the entrance of the casino.

A group of men walked in wearing leather jackets but instead of the Phantom's patch it was a Hell's Angels one.

I remembered Ari telling me his sister messed around with one of them.

"Did you know your sister was here?" I asked Ari.

"Yeah, she told me she would be here. I didn't look too much into it, though."

"Look who just came in."

In sync we both turned our heads.

"Go get April and Charlie for me and take cover." He rushed out, pushing me behind him.

I'm not no dummy so I did exactly what he said.

I'll be damned if I die tonight.

"April let's go. Some shit is about to go down." I grabbed her hand and rushed to find his sister, Charlie.

Charlie and I made eyes contact and before I could make it over to her the sound of gunshots caught me off guard. I quickly grabbed April's arm and yanked her down right with me.

We quickly crawled under the poker table.

That's how it was for the next few minutes. The sound of gunshots going off and April and I hiding under the table.

I felt bad for not getting to Charlie in time. We literally made eye contact before the shots went off and I couldn't help but wonder if she was alright.

The gunshots had silenced, the low music that was playing had cut off, too. Not a sound could be heard except for a woman screaming out that she'd been shot.

"Please don't be Charlie." I whispered to myself.

April was squeezing the life out of my hand and my eyes were closed tightly continuing to repeat what I had whispered to myself under my breath.
