What You Thought You Knew

This was just something I wrote the other day. Hope you like it ;)

The walls of what you thought you knew crumble to nothing more than ash and dust while the remains give in and are washed away in the ever flowing stream.
For years, your sword remained untouched, unused. You were blind to the rush of battle, but now you find yourself standing exhausted, worn, and scarred. Your sword that was once clean is now stained.
You never knew you stood inside a storm because you have always stayed in the calm of the eye. Taking one step outside, you never knew the winds could pull so hard. Pulling you every which way till you eventually give way and collapse.
The flower you hold was once whole, but with every eye opener, a petal falls.
What we thought we knew was sunshine and daisies but when our head is turned, that is when we see the ash.
But in every battle there is someone with us. In every storm, there is someone to hold our hand as say "Everything is going to be alright. The night is almost over."
