Chapter I

On a calm, autumnal night, one of the royal carriages was on its way to Zephyr Heights. Your older sister, Moondust Ruby and your two cousins ​​Hazel Blossom and Golden Heart, were chatting amongst themselves, quite excited to travel somewhere other than Briddlewood.

As for you, the youngest of the four princesses of Unicornia, you were silent, your gaze lost in the landscape you watched through one of the windows.

You were the only one among them who knew the reason for going to that ball.

A few days earlier, you got up from your bed to go get a glass of water. You passed your uncle and aunt's room and unintentionally overheard their conversation, as the palace corridors at late night were so silent, that everyone who passed, heard nothing but the sounds of their hooves' footsteps against the perfectly polished floor.

You soon decided to ignore it and head to the kitchen, but when you heard that the conversation was about you, you changed your mind and approached the door to hear better.

Your heart stopped for a second.

He said to his wife that very soon, you'd have one more suitor and finally get married.

Not long ago, when you came of age, you started to be visited by numerous suitors, most were nobles, but there were also some important figures from Briddlewood. Despite that, you had never been interested in any of them, none of them, despite being very beautiful, kind and polite, didn't make your heart flutter.

It was one of the few memories you had of your mother when she was alive, she told your sister and you that the only marriages that truly mattered were the ones made for love.

Since you were a little filly, after your parents' death, your sister and you were raised together by your uncle and aunt along with your cousins, as if you were their daughters too.

Not like some, they made no distinction or preference between the four of you.

Your sister and cousins ​​had already married, two of them through an arranged marriage, although it didn't seem right from your point of view, her cousins ​​seemed very content with the union.

Even so, you decided to accept, not wanting to disappoint the ponies who raised you and loved you like a daughter.

"Sister, are you feeling alright?" Moondust asked in her low, polite tone.

Seeing that you hadn't heard because you were too lost in your thoughts, she tapped you lightly on the shoulder, making you startle a little.

"Hi? Sorry, did you talk to me?" You asked, returning to your proper straight-back position.

"Yeah, looks like you've got your head in the clouds." She commented.

"Are you by any chance thinking about your future suitor?" Hazel Blossom asked.

"Oh, so you guys already know?" You asked in surprise.

"Of course, our mother doesn't hide anything from us."

"I don't even know if their queen will accept the proposal." You answered with a shrug.

"Honestly, it would be enormously stupid to reject the idea of ​​forming an alliance between our kingdoms." She commented.

"Look girls I think we're here!" Golden Heart exclaimed effusively, being the first to notice a golden sign reading "Welcome to Zephyr Heights".

At that moment, all of you turned to look out the window to see what that new realm was like, with a curiosity so enormous that it seemed insatiable.
