It had been two weeks since I last saw Devon. I went to work everyday, I went to the rehearsals for 'Grease' every evening. I was preoccupied with a lot of things.

I had just come back from work but I had rehearsals in 20 minutes. I took a quick shower and put on a sleeveless, knee length white dress with a flowery print. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was pleased with my appearance. I just added a touch of mascara and headed out.

It wasn't very far off so I decided to walk. I took the shortcut. That way, I'd reach in five minutes, at most. As I walked along the narrow alleyway, I had the absurd notion that some one was following me. No. Who would follow me? I shook off the uneasy feeling. Stop being such an ass, I told myself.

I thought I heard the shuffling sound of footsteps behind me. Well it could be the wind, right? I looked back once or twice and hastened my pace. I was thoroughly freaked out! Then it happened. Someone came from behind and gripped my shoulder tightly. I yelled and bit the index finger of the right hand. Instantly, I was rewarded with a deafening scream in my ear.

I struggled, trying to get out of the iron grip. Then someone grabbed my by my neck and injected me with some sort of liquid. I caught a glimpse of this guy. He was tall and had large hands. His face was covered by a black mask.

A moment after I was injected, I felt drowsy and light headed. The last thing I remembered was a deep, husky voice saying ,"Hey!" and the masked men running off. Someone crouched down next to me and I think I caught a glimpse of a warm brown colour before I lost consciousness.

I opened my eyes and all I could see was white. The place smelt somewhat...antiseptic? It took me a moment to recall what had happened to me. I realised I must be in a hospital. I turned around to lay on my side. To my surprise, I saw Devon sitting on a plastic chair. He'd dosed off. I just stared at him. He was well let's say it...hot!

He had sharp features and a chiselled face. His body was really muscular. He had really dark brown almost black hair. His face had a little stubble which he pulled off effortlessly. Devon smiled in his sleep. His lower lip curved beautifully. Then his eyes! Oh his eyes! They were like pools of rich, melted chocolate. Wait, eyes? Hadn't he been asleep. I looked away, at the ceiling. Blood rushed to my cheeks. I'd been staring at him shamelessly and he saw me. "Stupid me." I muttered under my breath.

"Who said you're stupid?". It was that wonderful voice.

He'd heard me. I looked back at him with what I was sure was the stupidest grin of all time. Real smooth Electra. Real smooth.

Devon got up, smiling at me. He walked over to me. "You'd been out for ten hours." He said, his warm smile suddenly changing into a scowl. "I'm gonna kill those bastards." He said with a soft, angry whisper.

"Who were they?" I asked.

"I dunno. I didn't chase 'em. It was more important to get you to safety." He said looking straight into my eyes. I looked away.

"Thank you. Twice you saved my life. I don't know how to repay you." I said my voice quivering.

"You don't need to repay me." He said quietly. "It's my duty and..."

He never got to complete what he was saying. The door burst open and in came my Mom, Flynn(my little brother) and...

"Daddy?" I said tearing up.

"My little princess. Who did this to you?" Dad said. Concern was the predominant expression on his face.

Devon turned, excused himself and walked out saying "I'll see you then Electra."

My eyes followed him as he walked out. Then I looked back at my family. "Mom! Dad! Flynn! Oh how I missed you guys." They came forward and hugged me. "Who was that cutie? New boyfriend?" Said Mom with a grin. She was pretty, despite her age. Dad was a handsome looking fellow and I heard that Flynn was becoming quite the lady killer!

"No Mom!" I said turning red. "He's the guy who saved my life! TWICE! He's a cop. Devon Turner. He's a great guy."

"Remind me to thank him for saving my little princess. He's probably the guy who called us to say you'd been hurt." Dad said.

After almost half an hour of chitchat, they went back to the hotel where they were staying. I heard my dad thanking Devon in the hallway. He was still here?!?

A few moments later, Devon walked in. "Nice folks you got!" He said, closing the door behind him.

He walked up to me again and helped me sit up. "Electra. We need to talk."
