(soooooooo... If the title didn't give it away, this is going to be another cute one shot... Sort of a follow-up on the papa? One. I love reading about parents seeing their kid taking their first steps... Let's see where I can go with it.)

Domestic life was treating James well, he had a wife, who was as kind and loving as she was beautiful. And a daughter who was as stunning as her mother, even at a couple months old.

He enjoyed watching his daughter grow over these past few months, she was quite the achiever and was always finding new ways to surprise her parents.

Today was no different, Madeleine was called into the clinic that she worked at. Leaving James alone... At home... With a baby.

The very thought of babysitting a few years ago would have scared the hell out of him, but now he was a father, it was like second nature to be there to watch his daughter.

The day had been going better than usual, Mathidle had been as good as gold. She was more than happy messing with her stuffed rabbit, laughing as the ears flopped around when she shook it. Oh the joy of a child that is happy.

James was making dinner, although he usually stayed at 5 star hotels and ate at the finest restaurant, he was a very good cook, as Madeleine found out during thir travel across Europe when they were feeling too tired to find a restaurant.

Madeleine had been working hard all week so James decided to make a dish from her past. It was simple in preparation, Duck with pita bread and a tomato basil pesto. (no idea if this would be nice irl, just go with it. 😂)

His M. I. 6 training came in handy for getting the duck as he went hunting. Bagged himself a big one. So after making sure Mathidle was safe on her playmate with plenty of her toys around her to keep herself entertained, he got to it.

While he was busy, bringing the meal to life, he heard Mathidle making grunting noises, he feared one of two things, one... She was getting fussy and would look for attention from him while he wasn't yet finished the dinner preparation. Or two... She was going to need a change.

He went into the living room and was both shocked and relieved that it was none of the above.

What he saw was his daughter, standing unsteadily on her little legs. He took a sharp breath, slowly lowered himself to his knees and held open his arms, "come on Mathidle, come to papa, you can do it." he encouraged. He was never this excited, or giddy. Not unless his family was involved. "come on my little angel." he called.

Mathidle gave him a cheeky smile and started clapping her hands, she put one foot forward, then another, then another. She was doing it. She was walking. "that's in, my little one. Come on. Come to papa." her little legs were moving quicker and within seconds she was in his arms.

James scooped jus daughter up into his arms. "well done. Well done Mathidle." he said as he kissed his daughter.

He set her down and she walked around the house freely, he noticed that Madeleine came into their drive in the v8 vantage. James a scooped up Mathidle and stood away from the door. James couldn't keep the smile off his face.

Madeleine came in and slipped off her heels with a sigh of content. She saw James holding their daughter, she wa about to walk over to them but James stopped her. "Madeleine, stay there." he said with a sky grin.

Madeleine was confused, "why? Mí amore. I want to see my little girl." she said with cooing tone aimed at Mathidle. "and she wants to see you too. But just watch." he said as he put Mathidle down.

Madeleine's eyes went wide, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her little girl was standing, she dropped her handbag and bent down to her level, "come on baby, come to Mama." she siad with tears welling in her eyes.

"mama, mama" Mathidle called as she crossed the room. When she reached Madeleine's arms she was picked up and swung around. "your such a big girl, sweetheart" . She siad as she peppered her daughter with little kisses. She was thrilled.

James came over and kissed his wife. Then his daughter.

Another mild stone reached. And a celebration to be had. This was always special for James. Better than any honour her majesty's government could ever attempt to give him.

The family then ate the dinner James had prepared earlier. Enjoying it very much and making sure Mathidle knew how proud they were of her.

The end.

(another story done. I'm really proud of this one. As I said last time parenthood changes the toughest of people, so it would seem natural for Bond to change after becoming a father please don't be too mad  at me. Thanks for reading and I'll see you lads and ladies in the next one.)
