Loki

An entire day, the team had wasted an entire day preparing to travel back home to Asgard. Midgardians could be intolerable.

Y/N had been gone for 3 days. Loki shakes his head to himself. She could easily be dead now. It could easily be too late. All because the team had insisted on taking time packing and saying goodbye to their dearest and tactical planning and resting and generally wasting time.

Loki had not had the luxury of saying goodbye to his dearest. So why should they?

They stand in a circle on the lawns of The Compound, each one looking more nervous than the next. Even Stark was looking unusually subdued, and Loki found himself revelling in it. How easy it would be to just... knock him off the Rainbow Bridge... that would be one problem dealt with.

Rogers slams the door of The Compound behind him as he marches across the lawn, kit bag over his shoulder. With a nod he turns to the team.

"Are we ready?"

Around the circle, murmurs and nods follow. Loki catches Rogers eye, and he nods subtly in response.

"Good. Thor, do the honours."

His brother steps forward, looking overly smug about being the headline act of this spectacle. He dramatically... and unnecessarily raises Mjolnir over his head, lightning crashing out of nowhere in the blue summer sky. The team staggers backwards in unison and gasps in awe.

As Y/N would say... muggles. Despite his grief, he finds himself smiling warmly at the thought of her... the way she had spoken so animated about her treasured books. Loki lowers his chin, not wanting the team to notice... especially not Stark.

As if they would... they were too busy staring at Golden Boy, who was currently slowly turning in a circle as if commanding the world around him.

"HEIMDALL HERE MY CALL, THE CALL OF YOUR PRINCE. I COMMAND THEE TO SUMMON THE BIFROST AND ALLOW ME TO STEP ONCE AGAIN INTO THE ARMS OF MY BELOVED PEOPLE."

Loki rolls his eyes, watching Thor almost with fascination, it was like watching a performing monkey on the cobbled streets of Asgard... just one with a bigger head and significantly less brain cells. Loki stifles the urge to conjure a banana for him. Fool.

Despite the ridiculous pantomime, the Bifrost shoots from the sky and scorches the ground around them in intricate patterns and Asgardian symbols. Had Heimdall really stooped so low as to let Thor summon him this way? Apparently so... He had previously thought better of Heimdall.

"WOAH! That's awesome!"Clint laughs gleefully, running his hands through the lights around him as if under a waterfall.

"So um... how do we do this Thor?"Nat and Bruce stand hand in hand. It was difficult to tell which one looked more ill at the thought of travelling via Bifrost. As Nat speaks, Banner looks directly into the sky at the colours surrounding him, swaying with vertigo. Okay... Banner was definitely worse, Loki marks.

He steps forward, the team eyeing his movements. He walks towards Banner, placing a steadying hand on each of his shoulders and sending healing powers through his body, releasing the vertigo. Loki looks down, seeing his newly restored powers seeping from Banner's hand into Nat's connecting palm. Huh. Guess they really were soulmates.
