"Any more pie sweetie?" granny asked us.
Ughhhh we all groaned in response.
"I've eaten enough pie for about two adults and three small children." said Aunt Gwen.
"Same," we all said in response.
"I think you two should head off to bed." said dad "you guys have a busy day tomorrow!"
Maria and I looked at each other and grabbed each other's arms and pulled each other up. It was harder than it seems because of all the pie we ate. We managed to start hobbling back to our rooms.
"Never again... will I eat... so much pie." said Maria
"Ditto!" I replied looking towards the wall, I felt like I was in a trance. I started walking towards a wall when I saw the faint glow. Of course Maria not understanding what was going on, kept on walking, or she may not have saw me. I noticed the fake brick hidden within the wall and I pressed it. As if on cue, the wall opened up, showing the view of the inside tunnel. As soon as I walked in there, I heard Maria coming back calling for me. I couldn't bring myself to call back to her, it was like the words were caught in my throat. She barely had time to glance at me when I accidentally hit the trigger plate and the door started to close. She dove in before it closed and ran straight into the other wall.
"Maria are you okay?" I asked
She just groaned in response, clutching her head.
"Talk about sudden headaches." she replied.
I heard something moving writhing the tunnel. I took out my phone and used the flashlight. There was another open door in the tunnel! I could see the faint colors coming from within the door way. I helped Maria up and pointed to the cave. We walked through the door, and what felt like a gust of wind, pushed us in just as the door shut itself.
"What the hell..." said Maria
In no time, the room was lit up and colors were everywhere.
"What is this place?" I asked, walking to the desk in the middle of the room.
"I have no idea, I didn't know this existed until it hit my head and opened the door." said Maria, a hit of sarcasm in her voice. "Hey! Was this the red and purple glow you saw?" she pointed to the vials on the desk.
"Exactly what I've been seeing..."
"Are there any light switches in here?"
"I think I saw one on they way in..."
I felt my way along the wall until I pushed a button in my path. The lights turned on and we got to see the full room. It looked like a mad scientists lab.
"What is all this?" Maria said.
"I feel an overpowering sensation of something in here..."
I looked right behind the table and I saw some curious jars just sitting there, a lot of dust had been collecting on them. I walked over and slowly wiped the dust away.
"What the..." I yelled, jumping backwards
There was a person inside of the jar, but she was only about 6" tall. What caught me off off guard is that she glowed and had small wings.
"Hey Alice? Do you still have that journal in your pocket?"
I forgot about the journal.
"I do actually!" I exclaimed.
I took it out of my pocket and placed it on the desk. I slowly opened it to the first page.
My dear young Alice, I realize you will have no idea who I am and I wish you would have. We have more in common than you think. I know you girls will love fairy tales and most importantly, magic. I will admit, my vanishment did involve magic, and was not an accident.

"Well, this is going to be interesting."
