Mom i tried. I was alone. What could i do?
You could have searched for truth, but you never wanted to do it.
"Mom, please, i will be late"
Mabel snapped to reality. She has to drop her daughter at school. But all she could think of was the dream she had last night.
Another dream, disturbing her about her childhood.
But she has to focus on present.
She started the engine and started driving to the school.
"So, what plans do you have for today? " mabel asked looking at Carol.
Her appearance always reminded Mabel of her own teenage. She is fourteen. Carol had Mabel's brown eyes and straight dark brown hair ending slightly above her lower back. Her skin colour just as fair as Mabel's.
"Nothing much after the school" Carol replied. "But i was thinking if i can have a sleep over at Cindy's tonight? What do you say? "
"Maybe, we will see. I will pick you at one. " Mabel told Carol as she pulled up in front of her school.
Carol got out of the car and looked at her mother with a smile, "Sure".
Carol was a sweet girl and very understanding. She always knew her mother had a tough job and it is not smart to trouble her with base-less arguments.
Mabel started driving to her work when her phone rang. It was her husband.
Mabel and Charles were high school sweethearts, deeply in love with each other.
Carol was their only daughter.
He was slightly taller than Mabel and almost same age.
He had a muscular body which Mabel always admired.
But the thing that attracted her towards him was his character. He was good man.Mabel picked the call. Her phone was adjusted on a stand.
" Hey, babe". Came a voice from the phone. " dropped her at school? "
"Yes, just a few minutes ago. Are you leaving for work? "
Charles worked in a private company.
" Yes, i am. I thought i should remind you about the lunch".
Ofcourse, Mabel thought.
Last time she forgot about the lunch they both were going have together at a restaurant and left him waiting.
"Don't worry, i won't forget"
" I hope". Charles replied with a sarcastic tone.
Mabel disconnected the call with a little smile.
Charles voice has always been soothing for her, doesn't matter what they were talking about.
