Penelope's POV

Once we got to the house I opened up my tablet. Only to have Jamie take it from me.

"I have to edit some things." He explained.

I waited patiently for him to be done. He soon gave it to me and I saw the phone and messages app deleted. And the App Store was locked.

"Jamie, can I download some apps?" I asked, giving him puppy dog eyes.

"Of course sweetie just tell me the names and I'll do it."

We downloaded apps like Episode, BITLIFE, and MineCraft. He wouldn't let me use texting apps because he didn't trust me.

I didn't complain though. Mostly because I didn't want to get choked half to death again. I was playing MineCraft when I heard the phone ring. Jamie quickly answered it and started talking with somebody.

I think it was his boss. He wants him to come into work today. He got his coat and put on his shoes. I just stared at him without saying a word. He soon noticed and walked towards me.

"I have to go to work Penny, I'll be home before it gets dark." He says, with one of his hands on my cheek.

"Okay." I say, giving him a small kiss
on his nose. He chuckled and left, leaving me all alone.

Hours later...

It was 10 and Jamie still wasn't back. There was a thunderstorm too. Making things a million times worse. Lightning struck, causing me to shriek. I hid under the dinner table with my knees to my chess.

Thoughts flowing through my head. Is he coming back? Maybe he got into a car accident? Maybe he just left you locked in here to die!

"No! No! NOO!!!" I yelled, covering my ears. The thoughts wouldn't stop. My little voice inside my head just wouldn't shut the fuck up!

"STOP! STOP! STOP! Please stop it!" I sobbed. It was now raining even worse. I could hear the raindrops hitting the windows.

You don't deserve him! You're a brat! Ungrateful bitch! Slut! Whore! Minx!

I screamed out loud at my thoughts. It was too much.

Jamie's POV

It was 10 o'clock at night and I rushed home. I told Penny I would be home before dark but something came up. I hope she isn't mad. People like Penny need people to depend on at all times.

Once I got home I quickly rushed inside. It was raining like hell and lightning. Oh Penny... she's terrified of thunder. She would always wait in the school library if it was raining. I even heard her yell sometimes because of the lighting.

I opened the door to see Penelope sitting under the kitchen table sobbing and yelling. I set down my stuff and went over to her. I got on the floor and put my hands on her shoulders.

"Penny! Penelope! I'm here! Penelope, don't cry, it's alright!" I comforted her. All of a sudden she leaped into my arms and hugged me tightly.

"Y-y-you said you would be here for me!" She stuttered, still sobbing.

"I'm sorry baby, I shouldn't have said that knowing anything could've happened. I should've never left you alone." I apologized.

Fuck! I hated seeing her sad. It pained me even more to know that I caused that sadness. I knew about her thunder issue but I still decided to leave her alone. I've been such a dumbass!

I stood up with her in my arms and walked to my room. I laid her down and covered her with blankets. I wiped her tears with a tissue and kissed her forehead.

"Goodnight my sleeping beauty." I smiled, walking out.
