It had been almost 2 weeks since we arrived at beach, we had a few days left before we had to leave. Surprisingly, there had been no accidents yet, that we knew of. Point is, Daisy hadn't called us yet. Neither did anyone else for that matter. Right now, I was cuddled beside Phil on the comfortable bed, 'The Proposal' played on the TV in front of us. This was how we had spent our time here, well, after the incident at the restaurant. We hadn't left our room much after that, only leaving occasionally to visit the beach and watch the stars at night. I shifted even closer to Phil as he rubbed a pattern on my back.
"You think they're okay?" I looked at him.
"I hope so. Somebody would've called if they weren't." He smiled, "What's wrong, Mama May? Are you worried?" He teased.
"Haha. No." I lied.
"You don't have to hide, Melinda."
I sighed. "I know." I nodded towards the screen, "Let's finish the movie." He nodded.
The movie ended an hour later, we were just about to order lunch when Phil's phone rang. I looked at him as he checked who the called was. Suddenly, the colour seemed to drain out of his face when he saw. He showed me the screen. Daisy.
Phil answered, put the phone on speaker, and slid it between us both.
"Daisy?"
"Sir, it's Mack."
"What's wrong? Is everything good?"
"No." Mack took a deep breath, "You need to come back. Daisy and Lincoln have been kidnapped by Lash."
"Lash?" I asked.
"He's an inhuman who hunts other inhumans. So far, he has murdered ten of them and injured five. We know he switches between being a human and an inhuman but we don't know his true identity."
Phil and I shared a worried look. "Can you send the Zephyr?"
"I'll send it on autopilot. We don't have any available pilot and Agent May can pilot."
"Ok. How long?"
"An hour. I'll send a file along so you can be ready. Be careful." He hung up.
"Dammit." Phil murmured.
"It'll be fine." I squeezed his shoulder, "Now let's get ready."
He nodded and left to let the hotel receptionist know that they're checking out earlier than planned. After packing up our stuff, which wasn't a lot, we left the hotel. The Zephyr had landed away from prying eyes, which meant that they'd have to drive there.
The drive to the Zephyr was painstakingly quiet. And that's from Melinda May.
"Phil."
"Hmm?"
"It's too quiet. Distract me."
He nodded, "I can do that." He smiled, "Remeber Taiwan?" I smiled, "We were undercover for the first time after the disaster in Sausalito. We were supposed to get the O84 and leave before they found out anything about us. However, I was sick. Like very sick. And I got us caught."
"It was your fault you got us tortured."
"Hey! In my defence, I didn't think SHIELD offered sick days."
"Mhm."
Once again, silence took over the car. Luckily, we were already there as Phil drove Lola onto the lowered ramp. "I'll be in the cockpit." I walked away from him, knowing we both needed time to ourselves for a while.
Once I got there and set the coordinates for our return, thoughts consumed my body. Knowing tears were sliding down my face, I started into the night sky. Unknown to me, somebody has there eyes on me.
"Mel?"
I hastily wiped the tears, "Yeah?"
"Are you okay? I brought dinner."
I took a silent deep breath and nodded, "What's for dinner, Chef?"
"Grilled Chicken Marinara."
"Haven't had that since what? Since the bus?"
"I think so." He passed me a plate full of Pasta, grilled chicken and broccoli in marinara sauce with a fork.
"So good." I mumbled.
"Oh and I bought the file." He handed me the file.

"Yeah, well.." Phil placed his hand on my shoulder, "It'll be fine."
I pushed away the half empty plate of pasta, "Not hungry anymore."
"Want some tea?"
"Please." He nodded and left.
Once he came back, I set the Zephyr back to autopilot. I blew on the tea and sipped the warm chai tea.
"You really know which tea I was in the mood for, don't you?"
"I like to think so."
"We'll be home in 15 minutes. You ready?"
"Yeah, you?"
"Yeah."
We got to the base in less than 15 minutes.
"Director." Mack nodded once we landed, "Assistant Director May."
"What the hell is going on, Mack?" I gritted.
"We have a lead." Mack took a deep breath and looked at me, "Dr. Garner accessed his health report a week ago. We think we switched his blood report from his last physical."
I felt my face go pale. Andrew. "Where is he?"
"At a secured base in Chicago. He's assessing a powered individual."
"Send me the coordinates."At their disapproving glances, "Now."
I turned on my heel and walked back to the Zephyr.
"You coming, Phil?" I called back.
"I,- yep." He caught up to me.
We boarded the Zephyr and set it to autopilot.
"Let's go over the plan." I nodded, "I'll go find Andrew. By myself." At his disapproving look, "You will be backup. I'll signal you when and if I need your help."
"Fine."
"Phil.." I looked down, "If something happens,"
"Don't say that."
I sighed, "We're here." I looked at Phil and softly kissed him, "I'll be back. Don't worry." I nodded, "Love you."
He nodded at me, "Love you too."
I walked into the building, facing security agents outside the room Andrew was in.
"Agent May, there is a process for this. It requires paperwork."
"Then do it." I said as I entered the room.
"Melinda!"
"Excuse us." I nodded towards the younger inhuman, and he followed.
"Tell me the truth."
"What the hell, Melinda!"
"Tell. Me. The. Truth."
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Are you fucking Lash?!"
"I,-."
"Were you going to kill that inhuman? WERE YOU?"
"I,- I'm sorry." With that, everything went black.
I woke up with a grunt, knowing Andrew had shot me. That son of a bitch. I groaned as I felt a migraine. Stupid ICERs. Suddenly, Andrew came into my vision.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, you shot me. Of course I'm fine."
He came closer and grabbed my shoulders to pull me up, "I'm sorry." He lowered his head and placed his lips on mine. Too shocked about what was happening, I kissed him back. The door flew open, and Phil stepped in the room, I pushed Andrew back and spit out the signal button from my mouth.
"I was really hoping this would be a big reunion for us." He looked at me with a worried expression, "Are you okay?"
"ICED but fine."
"You ICED her!?" His eyes furiously glared at Andrew.
"I totally regret it."
"That could've harmed the baby, you son of a bitch!" He shouted.
"I didn't,- I didn't know. I,- ," He looked at me, "Melinda?"
I looked up at him, "Where's Daisy?" I bitterly asked him.
"I,- I'm sorry," Suddenly, I froze up. I can't loose her. Not again.
"You killed our daughter!" I yelled at him, not caring if he saw the tears glistening my eyes.
"I,- I didn't." His eyes widened, "Wait, your daughter?"
"Where is she?!" I ignored his question.
"She,- she ran away."
