Chapter Nine: Little Girls
"Bored, bored, BOOORED!" yelled Faith in frustration, throwing herself face first onto her bed. "Lily, help me. I'M SO BORED!"
Lily moaned, annoyed. Faith had been screaming 'I'm bored' every few minutes and it was close to midnight, keeping Lily and her other dorm mates awake.
"Faith Irene Potter, will you just shut up for one minute?!" cried Lily. "Some of us want to sleep!" Faith went quiet and stared at the ceiling.
"...But I'm bored," she mumbled, turning over, fiddling with her heart-shaped necklace, "and I don't know what to do. I've tried everything. I can't sleep, I can't read because these books are so boring and ㅡ Lily, are you even listening to me?"
Lily feigned snoring. Faith threw a pillow at her.
"STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!" she screamed and a girl with short brown hair fell out of her bed.
"Look," said the girl, Alice, tiredly, "why don't you just prank the Marauders or something? I'm sure they've done something to you that you want to get them back for."
As she spoke, Faith's eyes widened and she could feel the manic grin taking over her lips.
"That's a great idea! Thanks, Ashley!"
"Alice," she corrected.
"C'est ce que j'ai dit," she replied, and crawled underneath her bed. Where was it? She'd put it here the moment she came... Aha! Found it. Faith grabbed the big black box from the back and pulled it out, unlocking the muggle lock she acquired from one of her muggleborn friends at Beauxbatons.
It had all of her pranking equipment in it. Stink bombs, fireworks, potions, fake prank items and other things. A few years ago her mother had confiscated the things inside upon hearing about her misdemeanours at school ㅡ but by the next summer she had already restocked her supplies, and her friend had helped her out with making sure no one could get into it without needing the use of magic. Getting out the few supplies she needed, Faith rushed to the bathroom, feeling pumped with energy. She placed the items down and went back into the dorm to rummage through her clothes, pulling out a plain white, flowy dress and her make-up kit.
The wicked grin came back full force. This is going to be great!

Sirius' eyes flew open and he took a sharp intake of breath. When he was greeted with the dark and familiar canopy of his bed, he relaxed, before sighing and rubbing his face. That was the second time he'd woken up with a start because of a dream he'd had ㅡ the same dream since having met her. It was unnerving. He could never remember what the dream was about, just that he felt panicked, like he had to say something important before it was too late. She was always in the dream, tooㅡ
THUD! There was a loud noise coming from the corner of the room. Sirius sat up and looked around.
Nothing.
He stayed still for a moment, wondering if he was just hearing things or had started to dream something else when ㅡ THUNK! ㅡ there it was again! It was accompanied by some shuffling, like someone was dragging something heavy across the floor...something like a leg...
The lights flickered suddenly and Sirius' hand reached for his wand but he couldn't find it. His head snapped to the bedside table and only found James' glasses, their wands nowhere in sight. He was faintly aware that someone was breathing heavily ㅡ or maybe it was just him.
But what if it wasn't?
Breaking out into a sweat, Sirius hissed, "James! James!" He threw his boxers at his face. "Mate, wake up!"
"Wah ㅡ ew, what the fuck, man? What the hell is your dirty underwear doing on my face?" hissed James, swinging it back at Sirius who's grey eyes looked guarded, a crease in his brow. "I was dreaming about Lily and I getting married and having a baby boy!"
Sirius rolled his eyes in exasperation but remembered the situation at hand. "Quick, wake up Remus and Peter," he whispered. "Something's going on...I think someone is in here..."
As soon as the words left Sirius' mouth, the door slammed shut. When was it even open?
In no time, Remus and Peter were awake but the latter fell asleep again, snoring as Sirius was positively shitting himself in fear.
"What's going on?" slurred Remus, sitting up. "It's bloody three o'clock in the morning."
A light giggle sounded from the corner of the room.
"Okay, Sirius, how many times have I told you? You are not allowed to let one of your 'ladies' sleep in the dorm with you!" said Remus in irritation.
"That's not one of my girls, I swear! Something freaky is going on!"
"Oh, shut up Sirius, you were probably drea...ming..." said James, trailing off as he stared at something behind the Black boy.
Slowly, Sirius turned around.
The first thing he noticed was her mouth. It was ripped open in a red grin, no teeth in sight as her lips stretched from earlobe to earlobe. There was a girl next to his bed, wearing torn clothes congealed with dark blood, her fingers and hair matted with the dark liquid and mud. Her face was stark white and blood was pouring freely from her eyes and mouth, oozing out as she opened her mouth to speak.
"I like watching you sleep."
She disappeared.
They screamed like little girls.
