Chapter 2: Chaos in the Market

Walking into the market you looked around, you didn't really know why you decided to go to the market in the first place, it's not like you needed anything from there. You just felt like when Childe said he needed to leave you had to make up an excuse to leave as well, you didn't want him to know that in reality you didn't want him to leave and go do whatever "work" he was supposed to do. You and Childe have been friends for a few years now, you met through your friend Zhongli when you were asked to look after the funeral parlour for the weekend while he was out and Childe just happened to stop by looking for Zhongli. The two of you made friends quick and hung out a lot...although Childe got busier and busier with his job. You had tried asking him before about what he did for work but whenever you did he always got quiet or changed topic. You never pressed on the subject but you had to admit, you were a bit curious about what he did. Lost in thought you suddenly bumped into someone. "Owww!" The person whined, telling you the voice belonged to a little boy. Looking down you see bright blue eyes and copper hair almost identical to his big brothers. "You should be more careful of where you're walking Y/N." Teucer said, rubbing his forehead from where you had bumped into him seconds before. You giggled before carefully helping him back onto his feet. "Sorry Teucer, I was thinking about something and not paying attention, are you alright?" The little boy smiled and nodded his head "yup! I'm the strongest so you don't have to worry about me!" You ruffled his soft hair to which he laughed in return. "Have you seen my big brother?" He asked. You looked at him strangely before replying "Yeah, he said he had to work today didn't he..?" Teucer mirrored your confused expression, "No, he only works every second day, he shouldn't work today." Hearing his words your heart hurt a little, did Childe not want to hang out with you anymore? Did he lie to get away? A noise shook you from your daze and you looked towards it to hear it again...people screaming in terror. You grabbed Teucer's hand protectively and tried to get some intel on what was going on. "Y-Y/N..." Teucer said quietly "Look over there..." you did as he said and even now, you wished you never had. Rising out of the Liyue waters, was a big monster type storm, bigger than any monster type storm you had ever seen before. "Holy Archons..." you exhaled under your breathe. Now this was going to be a problem.
