Kai leaned against the cold, damp wall of the locked room, his head pounding from the earlier beating. Star paced back and forth like a storm trapped in a bottle, her eyes darting anxiously.

"Then let's wait for your husband for now..." Kai muttered, his voice calm but stern.

Star rolled her eyes, frustrated. "What can he do? Complain at the police station? We have to find a way to get out of here."

"Just wait for your husband," he repeated firmly.

"But—"

"Just shut your mouth for once and listen to me. Let's just wait," Kai snapped, cutting her off.

Meanwhile, Somewhere Else...

Mr. Kim held his phone, his eyes narrowed with twisted glee. He spoke into it with a cruel chuckle.

"If you want your wife safe and sound, give me all your property... Otherwise, you're gonna lose your wife!" He burst into manic laughter.

"And don't even think of contacting the police. I have eyes on you, so don't be oversmart if you love her. I'll tell you the address. Come with the papers—and come alone."

Back in the Room

Star was crouched by the locked door, fiddling with a hairpin in the keyhole.

She huffed, frustrated. "Ugh, it's not working."

Kai watched her from the floor, his face expressionless. "Stop that. It's not gonna open. Just sit and wait."

Star turned to him, incredulous. "How can you be so calm?! We're literally stuck here!"

He didn't reply, ignoring her panic.

She threw her hands up. "Look at yourself. You need a doctor, and I think they hit your brain too hard—because you don't seem to understand we're in big trouble! KAI!"

His eyes snapped toward her, filled with raw anger. "CAN'T YOU STOP TALKING? I'M SO TIRED OF YOUR TANTRUMS!" he roared, his voice echoing in the room like a gunshot.

Star flinched. She had never seen him like that. His voice, his eyes—everything about him looked terrifying. Shaken, she sank onto the floor and sat in silence, pressing her back against the wall, her eyes wide with fear.

Suddenly, gunshots rang through the silence.

BANG. BANG.

Star jumped up, startled. "K-Kai..."

"Stay behind me," he said instantly, shielding her with his body.

Heavy footsteps approached. The door creaked open.

Mr. Kim stepped inside, a sinister smirk on his face as he walked toward Star.

BANG.

A bullet pierced the air—and Mr. Kim dropped to the floor, lifeless.

Star froze. Her eyes widened in horror, and her knees gave out as she fell to the ground, staring at her father's body. Her chest tightened. Her vision blurred. The scent of blood filled her nose.

Her hands trembled as tears welled up in her eyes. It was the first time she'd seen someone die—right in front of her. The room was suddenly flooded with armed men. Guns. Boots. Tactical gear.

She looked around, unsure where to focus—on the guns pointed everywhere or on her father's corpse. Then her eyes found Kai.

He was casually talking with the armed men... almost like he knew them.

Her heart pounded. Her mind raced. What is going on?

Then she slowly turned to the door, desperate to see who had fired the shot.

And there he stood.

Jungkook.

Her eyes met his.

And the world slipped away.

She collapsed.

Jungkook's POV

Mr. Kim's voice played over and over in my head:

"If you want your wife safe and sound, give me all your property... Otherwise, you're gonna lose your wife... Hahaha!"

"Don't contact the police. I have eyes on you."

He thought he had won.

He made the biggest mistake of his life.

I ended the call and dialed a number.

"Get ready," I said coldly. "It's time to rock."

I shot her father right in front of her.

She looked so scared. So broken.

Real tears. Raw emotion.

She saw me... and then she fainted.

I rushed forward and caught her in my arms before she could hit the floor.

She was so light... so fragile in that moment.

Yes, I'm a mafia.

Not just a mafia.

I'm the mafia leader.

The leader of the most powerful gang in the world—BTS.

We don't destroy innocent lives. We protect them.

We work with law enforcement. We reduce crime. We punish the real monsters.

But I guess... my little wife couldn't handle this much truth all at once. That's why I never told her.

That's why she doesn't know I'm the mafia king.

And that's not the only secret.

There's something else she still doesn't know...

How I found her.

And who her real family truly is.
