"school is over for the summer! i hope you all have a great summer!"

the bell rang loudly and you and your best friend, rose, raced out of the school immediately. "ha! y/n! i beat you! rose joked. "shut up, you laugh, and notice your mother's car waiting and you wave to your best friend.

"bye Rose!"

"bye Y/N!"

you enter your mother's car with a smile on your face. "how was your day, honey? m/n asked. "great! i'm just happy it is finally summer, you admit, sighing of relief. your older brother, daniel, or danny, was sitting in the passenger seat.

your youngest brother, jack, sat across from you in the middle seats. "y/n! jack said. "look what i drew in class!" jack was six and finished kindergarten, he recently turned six years old. "it's incredible, you smiled. "you're really talented, jack."

"yeah, danny piped in, he was sixteen and two years older than you. you were fourteen years old. your mother smiled, you always got along with your brothers, mainly because you loved them and had a lot in common with danny.

at home, you plopped your things in your room and went downstairs. "hey mom, can i go and hang at rose's? you ask. M/N looked at you."y/n, can you get your brother? i need to talk to you both first."

"got it."

you knocked on danny's door. "what? he asks. "mom wants to talk to us both, so you have to come downstairs, you said. danny groaned before opening the door and closing it behind him as he followed you downstairs.

m/n crossed her arms. "so, i have some news for you both." you sighed."mom, i really want to sleepover at rose's house, please make this quick." "yeah, i want to go back to my video games, danny piped in.

"well, your aunt janie just called, m/n said. "she wants you guys to visit her for the summer and i said yes." your eyes widened. you liked janie, and didn't have a problem with her or anything, but you had some exciting plans for the summer.

"when? danny asked. "well uh, tomorrow, m/n said. "so Y/N, you can spend the night just have to be back really early." "okay, i will, i promise, you said, a grin across your face that you could go and sleepover at rose's house.

aunt janie was your father's older sister, and she was really nice. you hadn't seen her since you were 11 so this was exciting, kind of. it did ruin your plans on spending the entire summer with your best friend.

be positive, you thought, as you walked towards your best friend's house. you knocked on your red-haired friend's door. "Y/n! i cannot believe your mother said yes! rose said, hugging you. your mother was a single parent.

your father died when you were 11, and it was after your parents divorced. that was when janie came to visit and helped you and your siblings mourn. jack was only two at the time.  "me either! you exclaimed. "also, i have to leave early tomorrow, i'm visiting my aunt for the entire summer."

"that's sad, but i promise, we will have tons of fun! rose said, a smile on her face. you put your bag in her room as rose's parents greeted you. "hi y/n, mrs. danielson greeted warmly. "hello, you said sweetly.

rose smiled. "we're just going upstairs now, mom." mrs. danielson nodded, and the two of you go upstairs to rose's bedroom. she had been your best friend for years, and you were really sad that you couldn't spend another summer with rose.

this was not normal, but, you did want to see aunt janie, and also your mother would get angry if you refused. you wondered why jack wasn't going with, then again, he was six and maybe janie could only handle teens?

"look, rose said. "i'm sad that we can't spend another summer together, y/n." "me too, you replied. "then again, i haven't seen my aunt since my dad died." rose sighed, and she hugged you.

you were going to miss your best friend, a lot. "promise you'll write to me as much as possible? rose asked. "of course, you are my best friend, you said."anyways, what's on the television tonight?"

"i don't know, let's check, rose said, smiling. you loved watching television, and you soon found something interesting to watch. you knew that you were going to write a lot of letters. "so, rose, does your family normally have summer plans? you asked.

she chuckled. "not normally. funny enough i just found out my parents and i are going to greece for the summer anyways, i promise i'll write to you a lot." "oh please! you said,"i always wanted to go to greece."

your mother worked at a good-paying job, but an trip to another country with 3 kids was expensive, more than one at least.  "well, im sure seeing your aunt in Hackensack is nice too, never been to new jersey before, she admits.

"eh, it doesn't sound fun to me, but i get to fly there, which is nice! you said, excitedly. she smiled. "see y/n? there are positives." you nod. "now shh, i want to watch this show."

"so y/n, how are enjoying the sleepover? mrs.danielson asks. "amazing! rose is super funny! you compliment, making her blush, not romantically, she did that whenever someone gave her a compliment.

"yeah, i enjoy your company too, rose replied. you grin, you first met rose back in kindergarten and ever since, have been inseparable, you were practically family to rose's parents, and she was like family to yours.

"so y/n, i know what we should do after dinner! rose whispered. "i'll tell you after dinner, k?" "k, you reply. you were kind of nervous about tomorrow, so you wanted to enjoy today as much as possible.
