Chapter 6 - School

"So you gonna ignore him all day?" I ask Stiles as i sit next to him

"I'm not sure" he says as he stares at me

"What?" i ask cause he is staring at me without saying anything.

"Nothing" he says as he looks straight ahead. I look down at my table trying not to smile.

"Still not talking to me?" Scott says as he sits behind Stiles. "Can you at least tell me if your dad is okay? i mean it's just a bruise right? Some soft tissue damage? Nothing that big? You know i feel really bad about it right? What if i told you that i'm trying to figure this whole thing out and that i went to Derek for help?" 

"If i was talking to you, i would say that you're an idiot for trusting him." Stiles says as i smile knowing he's cares too much about Scott to ignore him completely "But obviously i'm not talking to you." Stiles looks over at me and i give him an encouraging smile before he sighs and turns to Scott "What did he say?" Scott looks at me and i smile at him.

I left the boys to go meet up with Allison and Lydia while they talk about what Derek's been teaching them. I know Stiles will fill me in later about what they spoke about. I sit down next to Lydia and across from Allison as she reads from a book.

"The Beast of Gevaudan. Listen, A quadruped wolf-like monster, prowling the Auvergne and south Dordogne areas of France during the year 1764 to 1767. La Bête killed over a hundred people, becoming so infamous that the King Louis XV sent one of his best hunters to try and kill it."

"Boring." Lydia mumbles

"Even the Church eventually declared the monster a messenger of Satan. Cryptozoologists believe it may have been a subspecies of hoofed predator, possibly a mesonychid... While others believe it was a powerful sorcerer who could shapeshift into a man-eating monster."

"Any of this have anything to do with your family?" I say wondering where her family comes into play with this.

"This. It is believe that La Bête was finally trapped and killed by a renowned hunter who claimed his wife and four children were the first to fall prey to the creature. His name was Argent."

"Your ancestors killed a big wolf. So what?" Allison is really starting to learn a lot about her family.

"Not just a big wolf. Take a look at this picture. What does it look like to you?" Lydia stares at the photo like she's seen a ghost "Lydia?"

"Lydia" I say getting worried

"It looks like a big wolf" Lydia says as she gets up and leaves.

I get a text from Stiles telling me he's outside my house. I go down to the street to see him and Scott sitting in the jeep. 

"Hey"

"Hey, get in" Stiles says

"Why?" I ask as i reach over and open the car door.

"Because Derek kidnapped Deaton and thinks he's the alpha so we are going to the school to prove him wrong" Scott says

"Okay" i say. What the hell is going on?

We're standing by the jeep outside of the school

"This is a terrible idea" Stiles says

"Yeah, i know" Scott replies

"But we're still gonna do it?" 

"Can you think of something better?"

"You guys should have prepared me. I didn't even bring my daggers" i say
