What if... The Madrigals lived in California.

What if Abuela Alma led them farther than they were meant to go in the main universe.

Much farther.

What if they didn't get a miracle candle. What if they got a miracle in a guitar and a voice?

What if the Madrigals were giftless. Normal. In the modern world.

What if, the Madrigals were famous?

What if Alma started it all by lifting the town's spirit with song?

.Mirabel Madrigal.

Her Madre was a famous baker who owned a baking school and had a job as a doctor in her previous years.

Her Papá owned a business her Tío Félix and she helped out at. Along with Antonio, sometimes. Though Tío Félix was often out of state with his wife Tía Pepa.

Her Tía was a meteorologist who was always traveling to different parts of the world for long periods of time.

Her Tío was an actor. Who had disappeared after a movie he was in ten years ago.

Her older sister señora perfecta Isabela was a model, singer, and dancer.

Her older sister Luisa was a famous woman athlete.

Her older cousin Dolores was a successful author that wrote mainly romance, poetry, and fantasy of magical families. And she was a fantastic singer! Dolores always had time for her.

Her older cousin/'twin' Camilo was an actor, dancer, and singer. He chose to go more into acting because he was close to Tío Bruno and they would do plays at the park before he disappeared.

And Abuela Alma started it all by singing in Spanish mourning for her dead husband Abuelo Pedro and handling triplets.

If they could do all that. She could too. She was a Madrigal after all.

¡.O.!

Mirabel slipped on her embroidered sweater and skirt. She walked to her mirror and adjusted her glasses.

"Make the family proud." Time to open the door and get ready for a loud morning. She turned the doorknob for the satisfying click and walked out.

"CAMILO! Get down here to say goodbye to your mother!" Tío Félix yelled while helping Tía Pepa with luggage.

"MIRABEL IT'S TIME TO GO!" Her Papá yelled.  So Mirabel ran downstairs and grabbed a morning arepa.

"Dolores! Hurry up we need to move!" Tío Félix yelled again.

"ISABELA PICK AN OUTFIT ALREADY VAMOS VAMOS." Abuela Alma yells.

"FINE! Bye Mamí, see you next year." Camilo grumbles while walking downstairs and grabbing breakfast.

"I'm coming Abuela! Just wait a few more minutes!" Isabela yelled in frustration upstairs.

"I'm coming Papá!" Dolores says and runs down the stairs with all her books, laptops, journals, and everything else.

"I'm coming!" Mirabel yelled putting on her bag and running downstairs.

"Camilo, don't be like that. It's just a few months." Her Mamá says softly while getting her bag.
