Y/N POV
The next few days passed rather quickly, my question was answered- most of the demons were quite weak, unlike the giant hand demon Kamado and I fought.
Over the next few days, the two of us strangely kept bumping into each other, so on day 5 of the final selection, we decided it would be easier if we teamed up.
Even though five days have passed, many demons in the area didn't seem to get their hands on human flesh, since there were only so few of us compared to the demons' they were still as hungry as ever, so they fight over who gets to eat the human.
Kamado and I decided upon a plan, to be able to get more sleep through the days, since fighting demons is quite exhausting.
The two of us would rest for around 3 hours at a time while The other fought off nearby demons. If the demon was too strong we agreed to wake the other up instead of pushing ourselves too hard.
It was a strangely quiet night (day 6). Around 3am. There were no clouds in the sky, all there was, was the circular moon hanging upon the sky, along with the dancing stars. Space was one of the many things I was interested in, it seemed so vast- so deep.
Kamado and I decided to go on a night stroll, since both of us couldn't sleep tonight. "The moons' rather beautiful tonight, don't you think?" I muttered gazing up at my illuminated orb in the sky. The crimson haired boy didn't reply, only looked at the moon, smiling. He seemed to be in deep thought. Even with the smile plastered on his adorning features, there was a slight tinge of uneasiness in him.
As I decided to look back forward, to the path ahead of us I noticed a small rock on the edge of a cliff in the distance. I picked up my speed and jogged over to the rock. The burgundy haired boy gave a small jolt as I ran forwards, snapping out of his deep thinking.
I sat down and put my palm on my chin, my elbow on my knee. Soon, I saw a figure walk over and sit with me. I looked over and saw the crimson haired boy. "I wonder how my sisters' doing..." I heard him say. I raised an eyebrow slightly, due to the new information I got on my new friend. "What's her name?" I questioned turning my gaze to his eyes. "Oh, her name is Nezuko. My beautiful little sister." He replied, beaming at me.
"It seems the two of you have a rather close connection." I commented. He gave a small hum in response. "The moon really is pretty" he answered me.
I tilted my head, not sure why he said what he did. "Just replying to your question from a while ago." He retorted.
We stayed in comfortable silence as we watched the sun slowly rise. I allowed myself to bask in the sunlight, closing my eyes, enjoying the moment. I eventually opened my eyes and looked over at Kamado, my eyes locked with his. 'Was he staring at me just then?' He gave a small jolt when he saw me look over at him. "A-ah I'm sorry I just-" he started. I watched him as he frantically started waving his hand in the air, a blushing mess. He stopped when he realized that I had started laughing. "Pfft. You're quite amusing Kamado-kun." I said as he blushed harder, due to embarrassment.
~
"I can't believe tomorrow's the last day..." he spoke. A soft chuckle escaped my mouth as I heard the relieved sigh he gave. "You can see your sister after this, right?" He just gave me a somewhat sad look. "I-" he paused "yeah... I can."
"Why do you sound sad? Did you guys get into an argument or something?" I asked him, honestly curious about the topic. "Well- she's been asleep for a while. and I'm not sure when she'll wake up..." he replied 'is she in a coma?' I thought. 'I shouldn't drag this conversation any longer than it's been...'
I gave him an apologetic look, and swerved the topic into likes and dislikes. "So, kamado-kun, what's your favorite food?"
"Kelp rice balls. Yours?"
"Ramen, Favorite colour?"
"Yellow. Favorite drink? I quite like tea."
"I like tea too, but my favorite is milk tea with lots of sugar. I'm a sugar person." I chuckled.
We went on and on on this topic but we definitely did change it a few times. Almost 3 hours had passed until we had pretty much no more questions to ask.
"Phew, I don't think I've ever talked this much in my life." I stated, sweat dropping. "Me neither." Looking like he'd almost faint. I started to laugh. It started with a. Small giggle but soon, I practically started rolling on the floor laughing. "W-why are you laughing?!" "PFT- I- I DON'T KNOW" I chortled out. Soon enough, he started to laugh with me.
~
"Phew!" I said. "I feel like I've got abs now" kamado chuckled but not soon after gripped on his stomach. "Yeah.. that's enough laughing for one day.."
he stopped and looked over at me. "Would you.. maybe wanna go to my master's house with me when this is all over?" He asked. I raised my eyebrows slightly. "Am I even allowed???" I blurted out, slightly anxious. "I'm sure it's fine. Urokodaki wouldn't mind... hopefully." He sweat dropped. "Why do you want me to go though?"
"O-oh I'm not really sure, I guess I just wanted you to meet my mentor... BUT YOU HAVE ONE TOO DON'T YOU? SINCE YOUR REALLY STRONG- AND- FORGET MY OFFER-" "no." Kamado stopped. "What?..." he questioned. it's okay, I'll go." I calmly stated. "But-" he started. "... I don't live with my family and I don't have a master either. I was trained by my grandfather. But he... moved away..." I said, cringing at my pathetic lie. "Oh- I'm sorry you have to live by yourself... it must be hard." I just smiled at him.
"It's fine, really." I gave him a warm smile. As he quickly looked away. 'Is he.. blushing? I thought as I giggled, immediately stopping after gripping onto my stomach.
"Ow."
