Rachel let out a content sigh when she lowered her body into the tub of warm water, leaving her left leg propped on the edge of the tub.
"Good?" Ray asked, peeking his head in the doorway.
"Yep. I'll need help getting out though."
"Alright, just holla when you're done."
"I will," she said, then he disappeared again.
Rachel grabbed the neatly folded rag and dipped it in the warm water, halfway through her wash up she reached a dilemma. She couldn't properly wash her parts because she couldn't stand on her own without her casted leg getting wet.
"Hey, um this is super awkward but can you help me? I need to stand up to wash my lady bits."
She hollered out,
"Yeah sure. I'll help you," he responded not even a beat later. She was a little startled at how fast he responded, entering the bathroom moments later. Now he was shirtless,
"Didn't want to get my shirt wet." He commented leaning down so she could wrap and add around his shoulders. She leaned half her weight on him as she stood up on her right leg. She glanced at Ray to see if he was looking, his head was turned away. So she quickly did her business and patted his shoulder. He eased her back into the tub,
"Thank you, honey."
"You're welcome. I think it'll be better if you showered with a plastic bag over your leg."
"Yeah, that'll probably work better. Can you help me out so I can dry please?" She asked. He nodded and grabbed the folded towel on the toilet, she removed the plug and grabbed Ray's hand as he helped her out.
"Oh my, thank you so much." She said as he wrapped the towel around her damp body. Holding onto her waist guided her to the room she was staying in.
"It's no problem." He replied, sitting her on the edge of the bed. Placing her new phone on the nightstand.
"I think you just like seeing me naked." She said with an alluring tone, wiggling her eyebrows. She watched him grin but say nothing, her heart thumped hard in her chest as he inched closer. With an unreadable look on his face,
"Are you gonna tell me that cryptic message about not taking advantage of time? Is there something I should know about?" He asked with concern, she sighed and rolled her eyes. Leaning back on the bed, her towel falling off her shoulders slightly.
"Oh my god. Can we not talk about this right now?" She exclaimed with a groan,
"We're talking about it now because I'm a little concerned. If something is bothering you, you know you can tell me right?" He stressed but she was just distracted by his board chest. The way the warm light was on his defined muscles,
"Um- I think this conversation would be better if I wasn't naked." She commented scratching her head, he just looked at her. With that serious look,
"Your state of undress has nothing to do with this conversation. So get to the point." He said with a pointed look, she sighed. Defeated. Adjusting her towel,
"Firstly nothing is wrong with me. I'm doing fine. There is nothing to be concerned about. Secondly, I'm starting to get colder the longer I stay in this wet-ass towel." She hissed, rolling her eyes. Not annoyed, just not ready to talk about how she was feeling.
It would be better if he would stop interrogating her and maybe come a little closer. But of course, he stood in the same spot, arms crossed.
"Well change then. And meet me in the living room." He said before walking out. Shutting the door behind him. She stared at the door in complete silence, she was speechless. She thought of falling asleep so she can avoid having this conversation with Ray.
