"are you ok?" druigs question broke eris from her trance. they sat on kingos plane on there way to go find phastos.
"i'm ok. you?" eris asked with a smile and his face lit up. seeing her ok made any nerve of his go away. eris knew that he was nervous about trying to put a celestial to sleep, but he was doing a damn good job of hiding it.
"never been better." he said leaning in to kiss her forehead. the sweet moment was interrupted by sprite gagging.
"you two are so sweet it physically hurts me." kingo groaned sitting across from them with a drink in his hands. druigs mood was immediately ruined and he stared at kingo with a scowl.
"i have a question." thena spoke up grabbing eris's attention. "have you two...?"
"thena!" sersi scolded her causing sprite to laugh. druig smirked and sat back in his chair leaving eris in the spotlight.
"no we're curious. thena and i have a bet going on if druigs ya know, plain or not." kingo explained leaning onto his knees. eris saw sprites face go red nearly making her laugh.
"actually i'm curious too." ikaris spoke up but sersi slapped his chest. druig cursed under his breath shaking his head.
"well i'm glad you guys are betting on our sex life...but we haven't yet." eris expained making kingo groan. thena shook her head and went back to looking out of the window. druig knew about eris's past with hydra. she had explained to him the things they made her do and how it took a long time for her to open up fully to bucky.
"just so you know," druig whispered into eris's ear, "i'm not."
eris went red and stood up clearing her throat. druig threw his head back laughing at her flustered state as he watched her walk into the bathroom.
"what the hell did you do?" sprite asked innocently as druig continued chuckling.
"grown up stuff." druig said shutting her down. she rolled her eyes and went back to talking to sersi. when the plane landed they decided it was best if only sersi and ikaris went.
"now what?" sprite complained sitting next to kingo and looked towards the couple. eris shrugged and leaned into druigs side. she quickly started to doze off which druig didn't mind. she hadn't slept in a while and he knew she would need energy for whatever awaited them.
"i have a theory." thena spoke up quietly to not awake eris.
"and what would that be?" druig asked not taking his eyes off of eris.
"you two have met before, you just don't remember." thena explained watching eris's small body rise and fall.
"like soulmates." kingo whispered catching druigs attention.
"maybe." he mumbled wondering if he had met eris before and that just maybe if he could remember, he could help eris figure out who she is.
when eris awoke she heard more voices had joined them on the plane.
"she's a murderer druig! more kills than the damn winter soldier and black widow combined." the man eris assumed was phastos shouted at the rest of the eternals. she noticed druig was not sat next to her anymore but stood in front of phastos.
"she didn't know what she was doing!" ikaris spoke up defending eris making her smile.
"when they kidnapped me," eris's hoarse voice made everyone's head snap in her direction. "i was living across the hall from a woman named tabitha, she was an angel. she watched after me when my mom died and when i went missing she caused a riot. hydra didn't like loud mouths so they sent me to kill her. there's not a day that goes by when i don't think of her or anybody else that i've hurt. i just want to help phastos."
phastos watched her with weary eyes and he slightly shook his head.
"so you're an eternal?" he mumbled changing to subject.
"i don't know what i am. but i do know you guys have made lives here on the planet, maybe even families, i want to help you protect that." eris said while sitting up. she also had people she wanted to protect. wanda, sam, and even if she was mad at him she wanted to protect bucky.
"thank you eris." he said smiling and glanced around at the rest of the eternals. "ready to find makkari?"
"yes!" eris said as she clapped with joy causing druig to chuckle. he had told her about makkari and he knew they would get along perfectly. when the plane landed they made there way to the domo. druig controlled the minds of the archaeologists digging up babylon.
"welcome to my old home little lady." druig said as phastos brought the ship to the surface. eris's face dropped at the size of the ship as the ground around it crumbled. she had never seen a ship designed like it. she continued to watch in amazement as they made their way through the halls.
karun pointed his camera at kingo talking.
"a foreboding atmosphere fills the air. an eerie stillness chokes our lungs." kingo whispered dramatically. eris giggled at him getting an unamused look from druig. she grabbed his hand and placed a soft kiss on it.
"what are you doing? you know you are creeping us out, you know that right?" phastos said and he lets out a small yell at the sound of the loud pop. "oh, oh god! stay calm t, please."
eris's hand tightened around druigs but she huffed as they all looked down to see the bag of chips thena stepped on. thena gave him a 'are you kidding me' glare as phastos chuckled.
"chips. it's just chips." phastos laughed at himself and to the camera trying to play it off.
"as you can see being an eternal does not preclude you from having human emotions." kingo said to the camera. "such as cowardice."
kingos monologue was cut off as he looked ahead into the lab.
"what has she done? is that a sarcophagus in my lab?" phastos exclaimed causing both druig and eris to lightly chuckle.
"ready to go home?" makkari signed with a smile. eris winced feeing bad knowing that wasn't going to be happening.
"hmmm." kingo sighed and signed to her. "let me explain."
as kingo went off to do just that, phastos got to work. eris stood there watching him and he would occasionally explain what he was doing.
druig went off looking through the collection of artifacts makkari had collected along with the other eternals. eris felt druig walk up behind her and she smiled feeling his presence.
"look at this." he said handing her a tablet. "the emerald tablet."
she hummed sliding her fingers over the ancient writing on it. he watched her wide eyes take it in and he smiled softly.
"it's beautiful." she said as she handed it back to him.
"not as much as you. my beautiful, beautiful eris." he said in a low tone not realizing that phastos had been watching with a confused look.
"i'm sorry what are we watching? are you two..." phastos said gesturing between the two.
"it's new and i hate it." kingo said walking up next to him with a scowl on his face.
"i think it's cute. i'm very happy he found someone to put up with him." makkari signed making eris grin.
"thank you. i'm eris." she signed back to her taking makkari by surprise.
"phastos." druig said cutting into the conversation . "i need to control the mind of a celestial."
phastos turned back to what he was working on and the rest of the eternals gathered around.
"okay get ready for it." phastos said and with the movement of his hand he revealed bracelets. eris's face scrunched up in confusion and she slightly leaned back on druigs chest who was happy to support her.
"bracelets?" she questioned watching kingo who shared the same expression.
"you made us bracelets?" kingo asked making phastos roll his eyes.
"ok here's a little celestial 101." he puffed starting to explain.
druig looked down at eris who had her little nose scrunched up with concentration written all over her face. druig couldn't help but smile at how cute she looked and he nudged her shoulder grabbing her attention. she looked back at him over her shoulder and smiled softly.
"what if we can absorb each other's energy as well?" phastos continued. "if i could find a way to connect as all, one of us could become immensely powerful, pulling the accumulated energy from the rest, forming a uni-mind." phastos clapped showing the end of his presentation causing eris to snort.
"uni meaning one, mind meaning mind." he said when no one answered.
"oh no we heard you the first time." kingo spoke up making phastos roll his eyes.
"terrible name." sprite said bluntly making eris shake her head.
"we'll brainstorm... 'brainstorm'." kingo said proudly making phastos upset.
"no i invented it so i get to name it whatever i want." phastos exclaimed but eris spoke up.
"so suppose druig can put tiamut to sleep...then what?" she asked asked feeling druigs pinky slip around hers. druig could tell she was worried, so was he.
"we find humans a new home on another planet." sersi said causing sprite to frown.
"are we building a big ship too? taking a pair of each animal." sprite said sarcastically making phastos roll his eyes, again.
"you know what's never saved the planet, your sarcasm." phastos said to sprite who looked displeased.
"space colonization could take decades." sprite snapped but eris shook her head.
"it could happen quickly with our help, i've seen carol denvers do it." eris spoke up and shrugged her shoulders. sersi nodded her head in agreement at the new girls idea.
"what if we accidentally end up killing tiamut, we could be responsible for billions of lives not being created across the universe. boss, am i right?" kingo exclaimed looking over to ikaris who had been oddly quiet.
"say something ikaris. you don't think we should be doing this." sprite encouraged making eris nervous. she had seen this before, the divide in the team, the avengers did it plenty of times. eris shared a glance with druig and he raised an eyebrow like he knew exactly what she was thinking. after a long silence he looked around.
"ajak chose sersi to lead us. sersi should decide." he said looking over to her.
"forget who ajak chose. you're the strongest. you should be making the decision." sprite said to ikaris. eris couldn't help but roll her eyes as she looked back over to sersi waiting for what she would say. "fine just keep lying to yourself."
sprite stormed out of the room and ikaris called out to her. ikaris followed her and kingo was not far behind.
"don't... let her whine it out." eris huffed falling into druigs side. he rubbed her back watching phastos who had the same annoyed reaction.
"they'll come back." makkari signed to eris with a small smirk. "they just have to argue it out like they always do."
