O

口ne could say that Y/n fell 'head over heels' for Kaeya right at that moment, but that would be lying. In fact, Y/n thought the opposite. Between the headache that didn't seem to leave anytime soon, being discovered for the first time by a traveler of all people, and Kaeya practically interrogating them...

All of this caused Y/n's pride to take a bit of damage. Their mood soured and they decided to stay in the tavern for a few minutes, listening to the chatter of drunkards and bartenders. Y/n's eyes started to shut, tired by the day's events, when they heard a cheerful voice.

A voice sounded a bit too familiar.
Y/n's heart raced as they looked down from the second floor.
"Ehe, just put it on my tab Diluc!"
"I'll put it on your 'tab' when you actually pay for a drink."
"With a so-"
"With mora."

This was where the Anemo Archon spent his free time? In a bar? Y/n took a deep breath before walking down the stairs, approaching the bar top.

"Is he troubling you?" They asked in the most monotone voice they could muster, trying to seem indifferent.

The red-headed bartender (who, Y/n noticed, greatly resembled his father) looked at Y/n, trying to find out if they had ulterior motives before replying.

"Quite frankly, yes. This bard thinks a song on the lyre is proper compensation." His arms were crossed, and his lips were pressed together in a firm line. Y/n could sense his annoyance from a mile away. Thankfully, Y/n had some mora on them thanks to the occasional slimes that got too close to the Mondstadt's gate. How mora came from the slime Y/n didn't know, but they offered roughly 300 mora to the bartender.

"Will this work as payment for his most recent drink?"
"...it will suffice."
Y/n thanked him before Barbatos finally realized Y/n was there.

"Care to join me for a walk? Well, more like a 'carry', ehe, my legs fell asleep."  He smiled, turquoise eyes glimmering in the dim lighting of the tavern.

Y/n looked at him before lugging the short boy onto their shoulder, carrying him like a sack of potatoes.

"Bye Diluc!" Y/n heard the god cheerfully call out while being carried. Once they were at the tree in  Windrise, Y/n dropped him in a nearby wind current, which caused him to float. His braids occasionally flew into his face, but he quickly shook his head to get them off.

Y/n got onto one knee and bowed their head, "Your Excellency, we have a situation. I have been discovered, the 'Nemo' plan is in action now, and something is wrong with D'valin. Lord Barbatos, I humbly seek your guidance."

Y/n could hear him sigh, "I told you, it's ok to just call me 'Venti'. It's the name I go by now, you can lay-off on the formalities too." Venti decided to stop floating on the wind current, and instead laid down on the grass. "As for your concerns, a) I can deal with D'valin. b) Stick to the Nemo plan. Spy on Kaeya, get close to him." He paused, thinking, "Usually, I'm not a violent type of guy. But if the time comes where Mondstadt is threatened by his existence..." his voice darkened, "...kill him without hesitation."

"Yes my lord."

"Again with the formalities?!"

"Apologies...Venti. Is that better?"

"Much, also, where did you get that mora? And, more importantly, can you lend me some?"
