There are some things I wish you'd know,
And some I wish you wouldn't know
It's complicated, but even so,
I wish you'd know my name...

I see you in the mirror
When I look at my own face
If this would make things clearer, then
I wish you'd know my name...

I care not for your status,
Nor do I know your claim to fame
All I know is, in my heart,
I wish you'd know my name...

We see each other every day,
We talk, we laugh, we even play;
But still, I wish there was a way
For you to know my name.

We see each other every day,
But we keep our feelings at bay;
While in my heart I still will say
I wish you'd know my name...

I'm the only one to blame:

I can't beat you at your own game.

Yet my fickle heart stubbornly proclaims

"I wish you'd know my name..."
