Daddy

From: Eric
Yeah.. so remember that girl i told you about last night i keep thinking of her and her horrible mother.

I remember the girl he told me about. How could i forget she is brave enough to run away from being raped... brave enough to say something.. brave enough to leave.

To: Eric
Yeah.. she's been on my mind .-. Alot...

From: Eric
Mine too i keep thinking what would have happened if i didn't help.. its just weird how someone who I'll probably never see again can change my life so much...

She's makes me think differently... and i didn't even meet her

"DELILAH!?" I heard a familiar voice call to me.

I groaned and reluctantly got up. I walked to the living room to see my 'father' standing there.

"What?" I asked annoyed.

"I missed you too... i just got back from Arizona wanna see what i got you guys?" He asked.

Arizona? Thats.. far.. maybe mom was drunk and thought it was him... i dont think he'd cheat...

"Sure" i ran over to him and saw six wrapped slightly large boxes.

"These two are yours" he smiled as he handed me the two biggest boxes.

"Wow!" I opened the first to see two black hard cover journals, and underneath them a set of new paints and drawing pencils.

I hugged him tightly. And thanked him as i opened the second box.

"Huh? How.. how do you remember this stuff?!?" I asked happily

It was the pretty simple black dress. I had seen it once at this small boutique in Kansas when we visited my grandma. I picked it out when i was twelve i had told him i wanted a dress like that. At the time he told me no because i was twelve and it was almost a thousand dollars.

"I was hoping we could celebrate your seventeenth birthday and you wear it since we didnt get to do anything for your sixteenth.. so do you want an spectacular seventeen?" He smiled at me.

"Wow... can we even afford this? Wait.. how much was the dress?" I asked suddenly concerned.

"It was a little under a thousand some name brand stuff i dont know it was around seven hundred. And yeah we can afford this." He said proudly

How? What? You make me want to scream at you! How! Why! Since when! We've been living lower middle class for years struggling to keep what we have and you're splurging money on useless stuff?

"Remember a year ago our rival company tried to buy me off?" He asked.

"Well! They accomplished that they tripled my salary, gave me WAY better insurance family plan policys, they gave me sundays off, and a bonus if i start tomorrow! Oh and i haven't even mentioned the best part yet! They made me the vice president of my old section! So i'm getting my own window view office! And saved the best for last! Better hours instead of six a.m. to eleven p.m. i now how 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. so more time with you guys!" He loudly said excitedly.

"Wow...More time with us. Bet you're happy." My mother said sarcastically from the doorway.

"I am baby guess what! They gave me the bonus since i said i'd come in tomorrow so on my way home i got you guys gifts. Look sweetheart!" He rushed to her with a medium rectangular box.

He knelt down and opened the box to show her. Her expression softened and she smiled softly and began to tear up.

"Oh wow!" She exclaimed wrapping him in her arms
