After Sotiria had buzzed the buzzer to Kaiden's Flat (Emerald Tower), the girls had taken the elevator to Floor 17 as that was where Kaiden's room was.
There were ten towers overall, five on the west and five on the east. There were other accommodations with other names on the south and the west.
All the towers on both sides were named after gemstones. Kaiden's was Emerald and Khalifa was Sapphire, as he had lived in the towers too. Just not in the same one as Kaiden did.
As the girls were making their way there, Zipporah had truly wondered what Savannah and her friends had looked like.
"I'm scared, Sotiria."
"So am I, but Savannah is nice. She's on our side. She's our sister."
Either way, they just had to make it back before it was too late. The girls had deliberately silenced their phones because they didn't want any notifications from their parents.
They had lied to Señor Rodriguez about if their parents knew they were there right now. Not just that - they had lied about where their parents were in general.
They needed an excuse for him not to contact them.
Señor Rodriguez hadn't told Darius or Kesiena yet where they were but he was going to do so soon, as even he knew they were lying.
Sotiria and Zipporah had soon arrived at Floor 17 after what had felt like several lifetimes. Kaiden's room was 17.3 out of 8, like every other floor there.
Zipporah had done the honours of knocking on the door since Sotiria had buzzed the doorbell for them to come inside. One could have gone inside via their key or by buzzing the flat they wanted to go on.
If only buzzing had taken them there directly. That would have been a lot better and easier for everyone honestly.
It was most definitely the right room because the girls had heard people talking there, and they had stopped when the door was knocked on.
Savannah hadn't opened the door directly, although she did ask who it was in case it wasn't them. Sotiria and Zipporah had told her their names, and she had opened it slowly.
Savannah had greeted the girls and vice versa when she had seen them. Then they had complimented each other for looking nice. Savannah had then told them to come inside where they had obeyed her.
Everyone had greeted them aside from Khalifa and Josiah had Jon couldn't stop staring at them - Khalifa was staring at Sotiria more than Zipporah though.
"Okay, y'all. These are my sisters."
Wolf whistles had gone round from the boys, in a joking way. Sotiria and Zipporah had started to feel uncomfortable a little bit, with Savannah teasing them to stop.
"Sotiria," she had pointed to her. "And Zipporah," Savannah had pointed to her too. "This is Kaiden, Khalifa, Reminisce, Josiah and Tatiana."
She had pointed to all of them where they had waved. Reminisce had informed them that they had called themselves You're So High Maintenance, or simply YSHM for short.
"Why do you guys call yourselves You're So High Maintenance?" Sotiria had laughed, more so with them than at them.
"'Cause that's what we all are," Kaiden had confessed. "And we're not changing the team name. It suits us perfectly. Savannah tells us you have a lot of information about what's going on apparently?"
They had information, but whether it was more than what Savannah had told them was another story entirely.
All Sotiria and Zipporah knew was that Savannah's mother was their father's ex wife, technically making them sisters.
"Yeah, but Darius wouldn't have voluntarily said that to you. I don't think so anyway," Khalifa noticed. "What led him to say that?"
He was devastated over expelling Savannah, especially how the class average in tests and assignments had significantly decreased since her disappearance.
Darius hated to admit it but she was a bright student. He had just let his past with her mother get to the better of him. Hence why he didn't like her without really knowing her.
Sotiria had asked who he had expelled as when Darius had told her, he had only said this girl.
"Darius regrets expelling me?" Savannah had repeated. "I would never have thought that."
"Yeah but he doesn't know that you know so you should keep it on the down low. I think he's going to tell Señor Rodriguez who's eventually going to tell you. Act surprised," Sotiria had suggested.
She also knew that Darius had killed what would have been his son, Jackson.
Then Sotiria had screamed at him... causing Kesiena to interfere. Sotiria had told her what had happened. Then long story short, Darius had gotten kicked out of the house temporarily.
That was until Zipporah had told them to let him tell the whole story.
"Please tell us you two know the whole story," Tatiana had begged, with her fingers crossed. "Then we have to do minimal research."
"No we don't unfortunately. Our dad didn't want us to listen because it was too dark and personal. He had only told our mum. And eavesdropping definitely seemed wrong so we didn't do it or want to do it," Zipporah had admitted truthfully.
"Though come to think of it... I don't think dad would kill his son unless something happened. There's so much missing information that we need to find out," Sotiria had added. "That's where we come in."
Kaiden had remembered that Lilibet had told Savannah that if she had any questions about this, Savannah should have let her know.
"I would ask my mum but I don't want her asking questions. She'd probably think I'd want to do something with the information."
"Seemed like she told you that out of her own free will though. Like nothing would happen if you had asked her what had happened," Tatiana had brought up.
Savannah would have asked her if worst had come to worst. It was a long time ago anyway. There was going to be missing information either way.
Based on how well the group had gotten along with other teammates, they were going to split into two groups of four.
Josiah, Khalifa and Reminisce were going to be on one group with Sotiria. And the rest of them were going to be on another group with each other.
"I made sure that each group has at least one or two people that has information as to what happened. I mean, we all do but I'm talking about relatives," Savannah had announced. "With that sorted, I think it's time for us to go to the library."
------
There were many libraries in the school but the eight of them had inevitably decided to go to the quietest one, splitting into their respective groups when they had gotten there.
