san

san smiled sadly as he watched star, a young siberian husky, walked away with her new found family. yes, san knows he should be very happy when one of his rescues gets adopted, but he couldn't help but feel a part of him leave as well.

he watched these pups and kittens grow up, he took care of them, he was there to feed them, bathe them. so when they left him to never return, it hurt.

san sighed and walked to the back of his clinic, greeting a happy lee minho who was playing around with an orange cat named sherbet. "it's okay san, they have a better home now." minho didn't even look up as he spoke those words, knowing san was already nodding his head.

minho was in charge of the adoption program, while san was in charge of the vet portion, but the two would switch time to time just so it was an even balance in the clinic.

"i know, but i can't help but feel sad when they leave me." san faked sobbed, wondering why he chose a job that was this hurtful, but he also loved every second of it.

"yeah, but just remember," minho looked up at him and smiled. "we had them first." he winked when san let out a chuckle.

"yes, we had them first." san agreed, going over to pet sherbet right behind the ears, knowing she loved it when either one did that.

"we have another adoption visit." minho told san, he chuckled when he saw san muttering under his breath with a scolding face. "it's just a visit, it doesn't mean they'll adopt them today."

"it's always the visits." san shook his head and made his way to the front again, minho following behind him. "who's coming by?"

minho walked over to the computer and pulled up the appointment list. "han jisung."

san hummed and wrote his name down in the possible adoption paper, looking up to see who he wanted to visit. "funny, he wants to come look at sherbet. you might have to fight him for her."

san was about to speak again when the door of the clinic opened, and he lost that happy spirit when he saw who it was.

"what are you doing here?" san watched as yunho looked around before making his way towards the counter san was standing behind.

minho was shocked by san's attitude change, he was never like this with a customer. "uh- san he could be making an appointment-."

san shook his head at minho, smiling a bit but it wasn't a happy smile. "no, he's the owner of buddy, she doesn't come back for another two months." he turned back to yunho who was staring at him, his face being unreadable once more.

"i came by to see your little clinic. i'm on lunch break and happened to walk by the flower shop mingi mentioned." yunho kept eye contact as he spoke to him, and san couldn't help but feel his heart race a little.

"so i wanted to come by and check your place out." yunho looked around at his interior, smiling when he saw the orange cat in mingi's arms. "it's a cute place."

"minho, can you give us a second please?" san didn't look away from yunho, he knew the older had more intentions then just visiting his clinic.
