The loud panic was over and we are the only people left to evacuate. But we chose not to. Instead, you lift me off of my wheelchair and let my feet step on your shoes.

Newspapers fly like tumbleweeds in a desert. Silence can be heard everywhere. Abandoned cars are littered on the road—including ours—which would've caused traffic. But no one's left—except for us.

We sit on a park bench to watch a romantic sunset, complete with orange-dyed clouds. Then, a flashing explosion that looks small from a distance gets bigger and bigger. The wind crashes to the buildings of the urban sprawls but we ignore all those things.

I just rest my bandaged head on your shoulder then you arch your arm to touch my ear. You lay your head as well on top of mine and we both sigh peacefully.

After those moments of tranquility, you hold my hand till our fingers intertwine. Then you gently kiss my forehead where the line of the bandage stops. My eyes were shut by my tears as you said something I did not hear because of the explosion. When I open my eyes, all I see is blinding white.

I wake up with streaks of tears on my cheeks. I'm still at the hospital.

The world didn't end.

And all of it was just a dream.

But the part where you're with me,

will now always be just a bitter fantasy.

POV: It was a car accident and only the girl survived. She woke up from a coma and found out her lover died in the crash. When dreams are the only place where they could be together again.

—I'd rather have the world end tomorrow than to wake up another day without you.—
