I couldn't sleep, not like this. Akaashi has been gone for the past two hours when he said that he was going to get some cereal from the corner store down the street. Cereal trips don't take 2 hours. But I have to admit, the room is very cozy right now. There was a crisp breeze blowing in through the window, there was soothing low music in the background to help me sleep, and I was swarmed with fuzzy blankets and soft pillows. I shifted the blankets off of me and stood up checking my phone to see if he'd texted me back yet.
1:00 AM
I was exhausted, but I wouldn't be able to sleep if I knew that Akaashi could possibly be in danger. That's when I heard a door slightly slam but not too harshly. I sprung out of bed and practically sprinted down the stairs and towards the door where Akaashi had just walked in. He looked so out of it and extremely intoxicated. But I squeezed his soul out of him with my tight squeeze, but I was shoved off of him. I was shocked since Akaashi was never like this. "Where were you?! I was worried sick about you!!" I stepped in front of him but was quickly shoved out of his way and he walked to the kitchen. "Gaashi?.." I asked in a saddened tone, just to be ignored. I couldn't tell why he was acting like this, but it drove me to the verge of tears. I couldn't tell if it was more sadness or anger. I stormed back up to the room crying into my big comfy body-sized pillow pulling the blankets over so that I wouldn't bother him more than I already have. I could hear a distant 'bang' from downstairs, but it didn't sound like anything had broke, more like falling plastic. I allowed my tears to flow out and be collected by the pillow. I sat there, sinking in my own pool of tears. I suddenly felt my body pillow be replaced with something warmer and more life like, I looked up meeting the eyes of my husband. He lifted my chin up and gently pecked each and every last tear off of my face. His lips were so gentle and felt heavenly on my puffy cheeks.
"I'm sorry Bo, I lost a stupid bet and I was just a bit upset, I shouldn't have taken it out on you.."
I immediately sat upright hearing that sentence. "Your gambling again?" He questioned and the dark haired man gave no response. He hated when Akaashi gambled cause it never ended well. Whenever he lost, he would come home pissed off and start drinking or ignoring Bo completely. Bokuto was very clingy and required a lot of attention, which made it difficult when Akaashi was upset at him. "It was just thins one time my love. I promise." He said. He sounded genuine when he spoke, not like he was saying it just so that I wouldn't get upset. "promise?.." I asked. I'm not emotionally ready for that again.
"promise."
