CHAPTER 2: Reilly’s concerns
Reilly was very concerned and worried about her little girl as she and aurora sat down at their table in “Sugar and spice.” which was Auroras choice and a favourite hang out of most of the more unusual kids in town and their families.

Aurora was colouring in her art book. She wasn't talking much and that troubled her mum greatly. Normally Aurora was a bright and cheerful little girl who observed and commented on everything. But here and now she sat lost in thought her shoulders slumped and not interested in other people. Reilly looked at the menu and asked aurora what she wanted.“she just said bean burger and twisty fries please. And vanilla milkshake and water. The waitress skated over when Reilly caught her eye. 

The Waitress was a tiny women barley 3 foot tall. Her pale pink uniform had on it a tag saying hello my name is Ruby. Ruby had log blonde hair pig tails and multicoloured streaks running through it. With enormous purple eyes and a full lipped mouth almost like a frog. The whole appearance was slightly unsettling but at the same time kind of adorable. Well that what Reilly thought anyway. Ruby was one of the Three triplets that baby sat aurora often when Reilly was at work or out.
Ruby greeted them politely and tried to cheer up Aurora by telling a joke or two and then producing a little dancing light show in her hands. Aurora was impressed for a moment then just scowled and looked back at her book “leave me alone ruby I’m not feeling good today plus your at work.”
“I’m sorry honey I just hate seeing you like this ya know? So what would you like today Aurora?”  Ruby asked professional once again but her expressive eyes showed sorrow and sadness seeing her little friend so unhappy.
“bean burger and Tex mex sauce with sweet potato twists please and vanilla milkshake.” she whispered. But Ruby must have heard it and wrote it down. “and for you miss Reilly.” she asked politely
“garlic bread with cheese and a cheesy slaw salad and a strong soya latte please and some spring water please for the table. how are you and your sisters settling in?.”

“Oh not so bad Miss weilly thanks for asking we have nearly made enough money to buy out this pwace from Mr Cawavera. I am at work though like Auroa said so I will tell you more another time. fanks for askin though.” she replied with a warm smile showing lots of small pointed teeth. Then she headed off. Ruby had a lisp on most of her ls that made her sound more childlike in her speech but she always tried to hide it.

Reilly took Aurora’s hands and looked into her sad tired eyes “ look at me baby girl please is there something else going on at school  then what you said. I am really worried about you. You've not really been your self all week I want to help. But you need to talk to mummy okay?”

Auroa squeezed her mummy's hands and looked into her eyes. Auroras own eyes were now a deep blue and filled with tears. She sighed “its nothing mummy okay ill be fine” was all she was able to say before she burst into tears. And Reilly held her
“ssh its okay honey you don’t have to talk about it now but I think I do need to go into school about this something is wrong.  We can talk about it tomorrow if you feel better then okay, I wont mention it again tonight I can see its really getting to you.”
Reilly said soothingly and patted her back and stoked her hair.
Mummy I gotta go potty again okay ill be back in a moment.” Auroa sighs as her mum let her go but did ask “want me to come with you?”
“no its okay she replied. And jogged off to the loo.

Reilly knew that Auroa was going to cry alone for a little bit in the toilet but she respected her daughters wishes enough to back off for now.
She would be here when Auroa was ready to talk. Meanwhile
In her own head she mulled over the facts as she knew them.

1) Over the last week or so since the start of the new school year Aurora had been having more accidents and been allot quieter, maybe she was having difficulty settling in. she had moved schools after all from kindergarten to first grade. This was a huge transition for a girl as sensitive as Aurora well for any youngster really.

2)The kids had laughed at Auroa when she had an accidents and according to Her the PE teacher who was different to her class teacher  hadn't done anything. Of course Reilly knew kids didn’t tell everything, most people didn’t

3)The one that perhaps troubled her more then the others. Was her daughter finally gets a grade shed been working so hard for and yes she was happy and excited for a short while then all her joy deflated when she realised she had another accident.
Reilly decided something had to be done here.

If her baby girl was having difficulty settling in then she needed more support then she was getting or this wouldn't get any better and possibly cause further distress and Rielly would make sure she got it.  For now though it was time to check on Aurora and then enjoy their meal...
