The first thing you always did when going into Jean's truck was reach for the aux. And like always, Jean smacked your hand away. "Hey, my truck, my music."
"Come on horseface! Let me pick the music." you stick your tongue out at him.
"Oh, please, don't start with the horseface shit. I get enough of that from Jaeger and Conny, I don't need it from you too." Jean complained, giving up and letting you swipe the aux as he pulled out of your driveway. His arm reached out and held the back of your chair as he looked behind him. Your eyes flickered to where his hand gripped, almost touching your shoulder, then up to his face and sharp jawline. You wondered if he was gifted with that naturally or if he did something to make his jawline stand out that much. Maybe he secretly owned a jade roller and Gua Sha.
Marlo's house was on the smaller side, but still clearly expensive. You could already hear the sounds of chatter and music playing from inside, making it clear the two of you were far from the first people there. That was good, you never liked to be the first person in a new place. Jean walked with you and pushed the door open for you before following you inside. There were a bunch of people your age milling around, some holding red solo cups while others just sat in corners talking with friends. Jean led the way, searching for someone the two of you might know.
"Oh, look there's Eren." You nudged Jean and pointed out a familiar head of dark hair that was standing with a cup in his hand, chatting with a guy with a bowl cut and some girl with short dirty blond hair.
"Hey Marlo, Hitch." Jean greeted the pair, giving the guy one of those bro handshakes you never really understood. You were now standing between Eren and Jean, facing the couple.
"Who's this?" The girl asked, her eyes scanning your face as if trying to figure out whether or not she knew you.
"This is our friend, Y/N. Y/N, this is Marlo and his girlfriend Hitch." Jean introduced, to which you waved at the pair awkwardly.
"Shit, Floch alert." Eren muttered, trying to hide his lanky frame behind yours. "I'm invisible, I'm invisible, I'm invisible." he chanted, manifesting it to be true. It wasn't, of course, but the boy could dream.
"Who are you?" the redhead, who you presumed must be Floch, asked. His eyes darted behind you to see Eren who was clearly not hiding very well before looking back at you with a raised eyebrow.
"Guess I'm in the hot seat again." you smile thinly. "My name is Y/N. From Shiganshina. You must be Floch."
"You've heard of me?" he smiles in a way you were quite sure he didn't realize looked intensely close to those creepy opera masks. "What exactly have you heard? All good things, I'm sure." Floch made no effort to conceal that he was looking at your body, checking out your outfit you naively prayed.
"Well I heard you were an Eren fanboy."
The boy's eyebrows arched downward, his smile disappearing. "I guess I should have known Eren likes feisty girls. Although I didn't expect him to have another one so fast."
"Excuse me?" you took a step forward, glaring at the boy.
"I just mean that I didn't expect Eren to have found another bitch so quickly."
"If you had any more than two brain cells rattling around in that big ass skull of yours, you couldn't make assumptions about who Eren is and isn't involved with." you resort, taking another step closer. Part of you was scared, but right now you were more angry than anything else.
"You should keep your girl on a leash, Eren. girls like this should be seen not heard."
That was it. Your last straw had just snapped in half and been obliterated. You turned around and grabbed Eren's cup, dumping whatever the contents were over Floch's head before throwing the empty plastic cup in his face. "Take a hike, wannabe."
