Hope Pov:

I went to my room after everyone had returned from the party. I took up the painting I had previously created. I hear a knock a few moments later. I opened the door with hesitation, annoyed that it was simply Landon. "Oh hi," I say sluggishly. He then attempted to kiss me, but I resisted. "I'm not in the mood right now, Landon," I said solemnly, feeling guilty. "Is everything all right?" he murmured. The guilt set in as I remembered how kind and considerate he was. I kiss him on the cheek and say, "Everything is good."

"Okay ," he says, then point to my painting. "What is that?" he asks. It's cool; from a certain perspective, it looks like Josie," he said. "Um, I guess it does," I respond, gazing at it now, as my heart beats at the mention of her name. "Why did I just draw Josie?" "That's odd," I said nervously. "Perhaps you have a thing for her," Landon joked as he reclined on my bed. "So, how was the party?" I asked uneasily as I laughed anxiously. Sitting on the edge of my bed, quickly changing the subject.

"It was cool," Landon said, adjusting a pillow behind his head, "I drank a lot, I'm shocked I'm woke and alert," he chuckled, "certainly going to feel it tomorrow, how was your night?" he added.

"It was good, I got a bunch of homework done tonight," I said, knowing well that I didn't get a single thing done. "Mm," he muttered as he dozed off in my bed. I got up and covered him with the blanket. I snatched the painting and tucked it away in my closet. I lay close to Landon, who cuddled me with his arm as I turned to my side and stared at the black wall.

I used to feel so warm and safe in this position but I didn't, turned again so that now I'm looking at him, I stroke his face realizing I didn't have much feelings for him anymore.

Landon Pov:

I awoke in a familiar room, quickly recognizing it as Hopes'. I had a headache, but since it was Saturday, I didn't have to worry about it getting any worse from classes. Hope is laying on her couch when I peek over. I got out of bed, thinking to myself that I must have taken over her bed. I kiss her on the cheek and depart to grab breakfast for us, feeling horrible.

*In the Cafeteria*

Not many people were up considering most had a hangover and it was the weekend.

When I step in the door and see Josie, I smile and approach her. I say, "Good morning, Josie." "Hey Landon," she said with a smile. "It's pretty quiet in here, huh?" I observed. "Yea, the party whacked everyone out," she chuckled, and I joined in. I'm going to get some breakfast for Hope and me," I remark as I start walking away.

Walking to the kitchen, I get Hope some freshly made waffles and myself a granola bar, still feeling a little queasy from the night before. I exit the café and return to Hope's room. She wasn't there, much to my surprise. I sat down her food and compose a note. After that, I went to my room to take a shower.

N/O Pov:

Hope was in her room when Landon entered, she was in the closet, and she was changing when he came in. She's not sure why she rushed into the closet, but a part of her didn't want Landon to see her naked. Despite the fact that Landon had seen Hope naked, she now felt self-conscious. Hope walked out of the closet and over to the food, smiling at the letter.

Hope sighed at the thought of cheating on Landon; she despised cheaters after experiencing what it was like to be cheated on but now she was one of them. Hope still loved Landon, but she wasn't sure whether she was still in love with him, and she was beginning to wonder if she was ever truly in love with him or if she was just attached to him.

There was a small carnival in town, and the entire school was attending, spite of the fact that Alaric was forcing them to go. Not only because other schools were present and they needed to make an appearance so no one would question why the Academy was not present, but also because Alaric wanted his students to engage in typical adolescent activities.

At 1 p.m., Alaric held meetings to inform the students that he had signed them up to assist in the setup alongside Mystic High students. They were all groaning from their hangovers. Knowing that his teenagers had partied the night before, Alaric laughed and said, "Let's get moving!" He wouldn't call it a punishment, but rather a lesson in accountability.

After 40 minutes, everyone started leaving. Since the kiss, Hope and Josie haven't talked. They both enjoyed it equally, but they didn't talk about it because they were afraid of what the other would say.

Lizzie and Mg were making out at the school. They both liked each other, but Lizzie, fearful of being wounded, kept it a secret and refused to place a name on anything. Mg didn't mind because he respected Lizzie's reasoning, even though he assured her that he would not hurt her.

Josie was in the van with Landon and Hope. On the opposite side of Hope was Josie, and on the other side of Hope was Landon. Landon tried to take Hope's hand in his, but she declined, claiming "sorry, it's hot." She didn't want to touch his hand in reality, especially in front of Josie. Josie, on the other hand, noticed and couldn't help but feel jealous. "Have y'all seen Lizzie?" she asked the couple. She questioned, her gaze fixed on Landon, hesitant to look into Hope's eyes.

Hope looked Josie in the eyes, and Josie returned the stare, their gazes locked. Landon, unconcerned, answered Josie on his phone, "I believe she's still inside the school," and continued to play his game. Lizzie appeared shortly after, Hope and Josie's eye contact being broken. Followed by Mg 10 minutes later.

Hope was gestured to move over by Lizzie clearing her throat. She did but closer to Josie. Making Lizzie sit next to Landon. Lizzie scolded. On the way to the carnival, the ride was completely silent.

Josie Pov:

All I could feel were butterflies, and my stomach felt like it was about to burst. Hope was seated next to me, and there wasn't much room, so we were crammed together. Throughout the ride, her hand was on my hand. Finally, we arrived and exited. I'm a little sad because I'd like to feel Hope's warmth and hand against mine again.

As we merge with the other school, the operator approaches us. "So, let's get into groups," he said. I turn to see my sister, seeing her approach Mg and Caleb. I'm guessing Hope and Landon will be partnered together, leaving me with a random. Until I came across Maya. I started to feel better.

Walking over to her. Maya then meets me and smiled "Need a partner" she grins I smiled at her. "Um yes, actually" I said with a smile. Hopes taps me on the shoulder shortly after. "Hey, Hope," I say with a big grin. "Do you mind if I work with you?" She explains. "What about Landon?" I question. "He's going to work with one of the boys," she answers when I ask. Maya jumped in, pouting, "I thought you were my partner Josie." "You are," I say smiling, pinching her cheeks. "I believe it's three to a group anyway, so this works out perfectly."

"Yay," Hope grumbled sarcastically, Maya missing it. I ask myself, "Is she Jealous?" and quickly dismiss the concept, knowing it was dumb. Even if we kissed, it was in the heat of the moment, so it was probably meaningless to her, especially because she was still with Landon.

We walk over to get our assignment.
