Present - Elena
The next morning the mess hall was fairly empty when I went down for breakfast. I assumed mostly everyone was still sleeping, since they had the day off, and because of the night before. Once I was done eating, I made some of Levi's favorite tea to bring to him.
I knocked on his door, holding the tray with one hand.
"Come in," I heard him grumble, it sounded like he was having a bad morning.
I chuckled and walked in, setting the tray down in front of him on his desk. "I brought you some tea to help you feel better."
He looked up at me, his face set into a scowl that I assume has been there since he woke up. He was wearing what he considers to be 'casual clothes', a black suit with his normal ascot. I took a seat across from him and held my hand out, motioning for him to give me his teacup. After staring at me harshly for a moment, he reached down into his desk and placed the cup on the wood.
I rolled my eyes at him and poured both of us some tea, sliding his over to him. "You had quite a night last night, didn't you?" I teased, eyeing him curiously, waiting to see how much he remembered.
He fixed me with a harsh glare as he grabbed his cup. "Shut up," he muttered, taking a sip.
I took a sip as well, watching as his face softened ever so slightly. I smiled behind my cup; I was the only one who knew how to make his tea exactly the way he likes it.
"Ah, I'm surprised you didn't wake the entire castle up when you started banging things around after I put you in bed. If I didn't come to check on you, you would've stayed on the floor the whole night," I raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for his reaction. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion, before a flash of remembrance crossed his face.
He closed his eyes and placed a hand on his forehead in embarrassment. I held back my laughter, drinking more of my tea.
"Oh, and what was that you said in the mess hall... oh right, you said that I am quite the wonder, an amazing woman, hm?" A sly grin drew out my lips as he fixed me with another glare.
"If you're just going to patronize me you might as well leave," he snapped, hiding a blush behind his cup.
"Well, my squad training is going to start soon anyways. Drink your tea, feel better, hopefully your hang over will go away soon," I gave him a knowing look as I finished my tea and stood. He hadn't specifically stated that he had a hangover, but I knew him well enough to tell by his face and his attitude.
He rolled his eyes at me, "Whatever. We'll talk more when you're done with training."
I flashed him a smile and walked out of his office and to the training yard where my squad was standing around waiting for me.
"Alright kids gather 'round," I called as I approached them, and watched as they formed a line and saluted. They looked refreshed, excited, ready to start training again. "First things first, how are you guys doing?"
"Good, Captain!" they shouted in unison as I walked circles around them. I noticed that we had already drawn a partial crowd, mainly the new recruits who were curious about my training style.
I stopped in front of them and allowed a smile to grow on my face, "Alright then, are you ready to begin training?"
Severin was the first to break, taking on a huge smile, dropping his salute. "Let's go!" he shouted, raising his hands up in the air with excitement.
