"Helgen is where I saw my life flash before my eyes.. There wasn't a light at the end of a tunnel, and I didn't hear the call of Soverngarde." - Tila
"Hey you, Breton, your finally awake," said a strange man with blonde hair that I soon came to know as Ralof. I was just gaining a sense of my surroundings, I was afraid of what was to come."Damn you Stormcloaks, before you showed up the Empire was nice and lazy, I could have stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell," said a dirty Nord named Lokir. I began to notice that there was two other people onside of us, Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak and a Nord that I never saw before. He wasn't awake yet and I had no intention of waking him up, but Ralof and Lokir insisted that I do. So I nudged him with my shoulder only to have him give me this deadly glare, his eyes were ice blue and he had a small scar the dominated the top right eyelid and it went to his cheekbone. He was silent and looked at all of us as if he was planning which one he'd kill first, I hoped he wasn't thinking about this, because if he was then I was going to be the first to die.
We talked for a while except Ulfric and the silent Nord, we told each other about where we were from and why we all got caught. Then we landed in Helgen, Ralaf told me what was about to happen, we were all going to die, no matter if we committed a serious crime or not. I wasn't ready to die, I just started trying to see the world on my own and just when I actually start making progress Im up for execution.
They wasted no expense at trying to get us all killed. They all told us to get off of the wagons and they proceeded to call out our names. "Ulfric Stormcloak of Windhelm, Ralof of Riverwood, Lokir of Rorikstead." Lokir protested, saying that he was innocent, but they wasn't interested in his story. So he ran, and he got killed by the archers. Poor Lokir. "You, Breton, what's your name?" I looked up and said, "Tila and Im from Daggerfall." The soldier, Hadvar tried to show sympathy by telling his captain that I wasn't on the list, but she didn't want to hear that. "Get in line," she yelled at me. I complied, not wanting to cause trouble with the soldiers. "You, Nord, who are you," they asked the silent prisoner. "Alex, of Skyrim," he said. He wasn't on the list either, but they were intent on killing us all.
"Give them their last rights," said the Imperial captain, I actually think that's the nicest thing she said about us at all. A priestess was happy to oblige in giving us our last words, I was actually content with that until a Stormcloak soldier told her to shut up, stating the he didn't have all day, I giggled on the inside because after today we wouldn't have anymore days left, so it didn't really matter. He went up to the chopping block and yelled something about his ancestors then his head was disconnected from his body with a swift movement. The captain obviously had no manners at all because she just kicked the soldier's dead body to the side. She then called up the Nord. He went up to the block with no emotions, he didn't look scared at all. As he sat his head on the block we heard a loud screech from the clouds. We all asked what it was, but General Tulius and his soldiers said it was nothing. As soon as the headsman picked up his axe, a huge dragon landed on top of a tower in the small town and he yelled, and ended up throwing lots of people back including the headsman.
Ralof picked me up and helped the Nord to his feet, then he motioned for us to follow him. I was in no mood or predicament to be choosy, so I followed him. We ended up in a tower, where we all devised a plan to get away. As we made our way upstairs, the Dragon burst through the wall and killed a Stormcloak soldier in the process, but he left a huge hole in the wall that led to an Inn across the way. "You two have to jump, we'll meet you when we can," screamed Ralaf. I wasn't sure about being left with the Nord, but I had to trust him for now. He nudged me towards the hole and said, "jump." I jumped as far as I could and thank the Gods I actually made it in the Inn. I was waiting for the Nord to follow and soon afterward he jumped and landed with a loud sound. I looked at him and he motioned with his head for me to follow him.
As we made our way out of the Inn we met Hadvar and he was more than happy to help us. We followed him and tried to stay out of the dragon's sights, and eventually we made it to Helgen's keep.
We had a choice of going with either Hadvar or Ralaf and I really didn't care who I followed. Alex went with Hadvar and Ralof was calling me to go with him, but I followed Alex and Hadvar.....
