After going back to the orphanage after school, Flora and Fauna practically jumped up and smothered Annika Rose in pride and affection for how much she had obviously accomplished that day. Fauna was thrilled with the thought of going home. as the group hug broke, she picked up her twin sister, spun around in a circle, and cracked the first smile Flora and Annika had seen since she got here. after Fauna put Flora down, they embraced and started crying real tears of joy. Annika found her vision blurring, too, knowing she would be able to meet her family. now she had her aunt, uncle, and one of her three little brothers all figured out.
"Can you both please help me find a way to cover this glow? I love it, but it's not that inconspicuous..." Annika asked, not wanting to blow her cover tomorrow at school.
"Oh, don't even worry about it. no one will say anything. no one cares about stuff like that anyway. look at me! I'm PINK for crying out loud! No one asked me anything! Not even you!" Fauna said, reassuringly. She still wore that smile she had cracked earlier, but it had transformed into a smug, happy smirk. now that Annika thought about it, she never really asked Fauna or Flora about themselves and felt guilty.
"So I never did, huh? Well, why don't we sit down and you guys can tell me about yourselves?" Annika replied, smoothly dodging Fauna's shots fired.
"OK, let's go!" Flora squealed, perky as ever and excited by the thought of talking just to talk. girl time. something Flora never really got to experience with her Tom-boy sister.
She dragged the other girls upstairs by the arm and sat them down on a couch in the attic. Annika Rose hadn't been up in the attic since the girls arrived. She guessed they decided it was to plain and broken so they supplied decor of their own. huge plants, small plants, blooming plants, jungle plants, desert plants, leaf-ey plants you name it, it was there. there was even an infinite pond with a small waterfall in the corner!
"Do you want to go first Fauna, or can I?" Flora asked, trying to be patient, but it was obvious by her posture and the shrill in her voice that she wanted to go first. and second. and last.
"You go ahead. fire away," Fauna answered, knowing how badly her sister wanted to tell her story.Shout out: souldancer
