I look up to the sky and wonder,
Will I ever run free again
like I once did, maybe in a past life or another universe?
Will I ever run through the fields of long grass, pouring rain and pine with my brothers and sisters, howling and barking?
Will I ever be able to look at myself in a puddle and see a muzzle full of sharp, predatory teeth, paws and a shaggy black coat, sleek with cold rain-water?
Will I ever be happy with my form,
no longer human,
but animal once again?
