Mermista's office is located in the center of the Sea Palace surrounded by twisting towers that look over Salineas. If one had to take an outsider's perspective of her office they probably surmise it in one word. "Messy." Or perhaps they would say it was like a murder scene. Loose documents scattered around, a child's drawing of a crude sea around walls, and the splattering of blood along her desk as she clenches her fist tight enough to draw blood as she repeats a broken message on her computer.

"Looks like I'm not making home this time honey...Haha..they're coming! An army of horde...pl....you have...protect.....Netossa...escaped.... I love you."

Mermista screams throwing the computer against the wall shattering it, she flips her desk in rage as she pants from her outrage.

"Why don't we avenge him?" A deep guttural and sinister voice echoes in her mind.

She looks at a mirror to her side to see one of her eyes has turned a sickly yellow with a floating broken crown above her head.

"Leave. I have no time for you." She says through gritted teeth.

"What's wrong? Were both thinking it. Who could stop us? That cat and her bunch of weaklings? Ha!" The words effortlessly leave her mouth as if their her own but she grits her teeth knowing the sinister intent that belongs to it.

Mermista angrily stomps towards the mirror gripping it on both sides.

"Shut up before I destroy you!" Mermista growls.

Greenish yellow veins spread from her left side of her face to right. As if threatening to consume her.

"You're not angry at me, you're angry at Catra. It's been two days since the message was sent and she still hasn't sent a rescue party. She's given up, I mean after all it isn't her husband that's captured." Jormungand says

Mermista clenches her fist.

"LIES. She wouldn't! Would she?" Mermista says her face contorting into confusion.

"Of course she would. After all why waste resources saving someone who doesn't even have magic." He says.

Mermista screams as she shatters the mirror   with a single strike. Her eyes narrow before making her way to port

----

A disheveled Catra stares at a war map of her empire with bloodshot eyes.

"Really meditating? When did you turn into that flower girl." A familiar voice says

Catra sighs before turning to see herself but fully corrupted by black magic. Her skin burnt and scarred with magic power. Her eyes darkened with two crimson beady eyes.

"You're just an echo of my subconscious mind." Catra says turning her head away.

"An echo? Really? You think I'm one of you're sick delusions? Hahaha! Man, you know you're spread thin when you can't even block the side effects of Dark magic." Evil Catra says snickering.

Catra's eyes widens in shock before she concentrates her mind to enter her mind palace.

The once lush fields of flowers are replaced with black sludge. The place where Catra's memory of her and Adora's excursion now lays corrupted. A corrupted Catra kneels, her body restrained by chains of light connecting to grey statues of Merry and Lionett. With a almost broken statue of Adora behind the corrupted Catra.

Catra narrows her eyes, at the two chains of light wrapping around each of her arms. She winces slightly at the fading collar of light around her neck.

"All this talk about how love Adora and yet you can't hide these bitter feelings." Evil Carta says pointing at the collar.
