Kaylie woke up the next morning, neck stiff, she freshened up before she went to get coffee and donuts. When she arrived Dana was awake, they had something to eat and afterwards they took every knowable position they could in the room; sitting, standing, leaning.

When afternoon rolled by, Alex had called Kaylie to check up on her, Dana and Lily and Dana wasn't even surprised Kevin hadn't called. She'd be more surprised if he did. Dana was near the window, staring out at the busy road while Kaylie was seated next to Lily's bed, her hand on top of hers while she read a magazine she had borrowed from Lily's nurse.

Kaylie wasn't one for magazines but that was the only sane thing she could do while in the room. She was reading a section inside the magazine about the Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello possible romance when she felt it. She looked up from the magazine on her lap to the hand beneath hers and she felt it again. Kaylie shifted her gaze to Lily's face holding her breath which she released when she saw Lily's eyes flutter before they opened slowly.

"Ugh." She groaned.

"Dana." Kaylie called quietly wanting Lily to get used to her surrounding before she had to deal with them. Dana of course didn't hear Kaylie call her name because she was lost in thought thinking about what her life had become.

"Dana." Kaylie called a little louder and Dana turned to her then.

"Yea?"

Kaylie looked behind her and smiled at Dana.
"She's awake."

Dana was by her side in the blink of an eye, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"I'll get the doctor." Kaylie said before she left.

Lily shut her eyes tight before she opened them and settled them on Dana.
"Dana?" She called, voice cracking. "Wh...?"

"Let me get you some water." Dana reached for the water on the bedside table and put a straw into it before she brought it to Lily's lips.

Lily pulled away when she was done.
"What happened?" She asked "Ugh, my head hurts." She groaned.

"You were found near the club." Dana said.

"Yea but I don't understand why I'm here." She said.

Dana opened her mouth and closed it then opened it again.
"You overdosed."

Lily frowned at her.
"No." She said.

"What?"

"I didn't." Lily said. "I didn't even use up to my usual because I was keeping an eye on Cheryl. She's been acting all strange lately."

Dana looked away at the mention of Cheryl.

"I swear it Dana." Lily placed her hand on Dana's and Dana looked at her again. "I couldn't do that to you again after last time."

She was referring to the time she had overdosed and gone to rehab and then fallen back into it but promised her she wouldn't fall all in again.

"Then how do you explain why you're here?" Dana asked.

"How did I even get here, how did you know?"

"Someone called 911 and the hospital called me after you were brought in and identified."

"Did they find out who called 911?" Lily asked.

Dana shook her head.
"Unknown caller."

Lily nodded.
"What about Cheryl, where is she?" She asked. "I hope she isn't freaking out because of this."

Dana placed her other hand on top Lily's when she felt the tremor due to lack of drug in her system; her body wanted some.
"Let's focus on you first. We'll talk about Cheryl later."

Lily frowned.
"What do you mean talk about Cheryl later?" She asked.

Dana sighed and looked at her.
"Lily..."

"I heard you finally woke."

Dana and Lily shifted their gaze to the door to see Doctor Miller and Kaylie.

"Hi Kay." Lily smiled at her.

"Hey you." Kaylie walked back to the spot she had vacated before she left. "Thank you for joining the land of the living."

"I couldn't leave you girls alone, now could I?" Lily said. "You wouldn't survive without me."

Kaylie smiled at this playful side of her.

"How are you feeling?" Lucas from the other side of the bed, opposite the side where Kaylie and Dana were.

"Famished." Lily said.

"It's the fluid." Lucas smiled. "What else?"

Lily looked at the girls.

"Lily, you need to tell me everything you're feeling."

Lily looked at him.
"I...I would feel better if I could get something for the headache, pain killers probably."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Dana said.

"Well what do you suggest for the headache?" Lily asked Dana.

"Sleep, lots of it."

"I need pain killers more for 'the feeling' to go than the headaches."

"I know." Dana said. "But we need to talk about that."

"I'll come back later." Lucas left the room to them.

Dana looked at Kaylie who raised a brow at her and Dana shook her head. Lily caught this and frowned.
"What's going on?" She asked.

"Lily, it's about Cheryl." Dana said.

"Is she ok?" Lily said, fidgeting already shifting her gaze from Kaylie to Dana and the back.

"She was found with you near the club, she overdosed too." Dana said.

Lily shut her eyes.
"I was supposed to look after her, she's been doing this new stuff that's really good and by good, I mean very good. But I told her to stop it when I realized how good it was and it would only land us at the hospital. She promised to stay away from it."

"Was Colton...Collin..."

"Cooper."

"Yea, Cooper. Was he with you?" Dana asked.

"Yea, why?" Dana asked.

"He might know something." Kaylie said before Dana could.

"About what?"

"About what happened."

Lily nodded.
"My phone is somewhere."

Kaylie reached behind her and grabbed Lily's phone.
"Here."

Lily took the phone and dialled Cooper's number; it rang but he didn't pick up.
"I'll try him later." Lily said when she called him for the third time and he didn't pick up.

"Ok." Dana said just as Lily placed the phone to her ear again. "Who are you calling?"

"Cheryl." Lily said and right on cue, a phone rang in the room. Lily frowned and pulled her phone away from her ear. "Why's Cheryl's phone ringing here?"

Dana glanced at Kaylie and back at Lily.

"Lily, Cheryl overdosed more than you did." Kaylie began.

"And?"

Dana sighed.
"She didn't make it to the hospital." She looked at Lily. "She was gone before they made it back here."

Lily stared at her, dumbfounded.
"Wh-what?"

"She's gone." Dana said, keeping her tears at bay.

"That can't be." Lily said, her eyes tearing up. "She was just with me."

"I'm sorry Lily, I'm really sorry." Dana had her jaw clenched.

Lily was ok one moment and next she was a sobbing mess, collapsing into Dana's arms, Kaylie seating behind her rubbing her back and keeping her tears from falling out. Dana looked at Kaylie from Lily's shoulders and they shared a look of grief and sympathy for their friend.

"It's all my fault." Lily sobbed. "I should have been looking after her."

"It's not your fault Lily." Dana said. "You did everything you could to get her to stop."

"It wasn't enough." Lily chocked out. "I-I can't do this anymore. I can't."

Dana snapped her gaze to Kaylie and they hoped she didn't mean that. They both couldn't lose her.

Even if she was a mess, she was their mess.
