The air became more humid. You could hear the sounds of nature and calm silence. The silence was broken by warriors attacking invaders in the Tallclaw's herd. Tallclaw has spotted the leader of the tramp and attacked a massive brown cat. The tom dodged and struck Tallclaw a blow.
"What are you doing in our territory" Tallclaw asked.
"Don’t you remember me, Tallclaw? It’s me, Scar." Scar growled. Tallclaw took a slight shock. What Scar and his herd are doing here? Do they want to control the herd by killing him?
"I told you to stay away from our herd!" He hissed when he jumped at Scar. Scar has pierced its claws into the shoulder of Tallclaw. Northheart has seen a leader in trouble. He quickly rushed to the aid of his leader and friend. Scar struck Tallclaw aggressively to the ground.
"Tallclaw!" Northheart shouted in horror. Deputy threw Scar to the ground and injured him in the mouth. Tallclaw, however, got up and nervously waved his tail.
“This is my fight, Northheart!” He snorted to his deputy. Northheart released the enemy, who immediately attacked Tallclaw. But Tallclaw was prepared to strike a blow to the intruder. Northheart watched the fight with concern. Scar had the advantage and delivered a hard blow to the throat of Tallclaw.
I can’t stand and watch my leader die! Northheart was screaming. Tallclaw uttered a soft moan and lay in a pool of blood.
Northheart rushed to Scar with a battle scream. Tallclaw groaned in pain and gasped as he fought for his life. Northheart desperately wounded a Scar in the neck as he had done to his friend. However, the deputy was stopped by Ashflower. Northheart descended from Scar and looked at now dead Tallclaw. The leader was dead. Scar stood up with a slit neck.
“He beat him.” Birdsight whispered. Northheart's heart broke into pieces.
Blood was dripping from Scar's neck. Silentleap reacted quickly, but Scar aggressively growled at she-cat to not to approach her.
“He defeated Tallclaw.” Northheart repeated after Birdsight. Scar stood erect and spoke seriously:
“I am Scar, leader of the pack of the strongs, I defeated your leader in a duel. I am leader, now.”
Northheart was surprised at this statement. Scar stared at Northheart.
“It doesn't matter if the previous leader had a deputy. Because Tallclaw has promised power to whoever kills him.” Scar meowed calmly. Northheart stood staring at the body of Tallclaw. Ashflower sat down beside her brother's body. Thornwind sat down next to her friend comforting her.
“Northheart is the deputy! It is he who should become the rightful leader and receive the name of the leader from ancestors!” Storkstripe muttered. However, Lionstream approached Scar. The tabby tomcat quoted the code:
“"The cat who defeated the leader in a duel becomes the rightful ruler of herd."”
Northheart couldn't believe it. He was sure Scar was lying when he said it was Tallclaw who told him that.
“But, I am Tallclaw's deputy!” Northheart replied. Lionstream looked sad.
“You could be him if Tallclaw hadn't been killed by the loner.” Lionstream muttered. Northheart with undisguised sadness came to the body of his friend. He began to mourn the death of his friend and leader. Scar looked proud.
“You must perform ceremony.” Lionstream informed him. Scar just nodded. Northheart dug its claws into the ground and suddenly stood up. He turned to face the new pack leader.
“I'll take you there.” Northheart mumbled with a sad voice. Scar reluctantly followed Northheart.
It was dusk when they Northheart and Scar got there. Scar and the Northheart entered the dark cave. In front of them there was a stone of medium size. It shone like a star in the dark.
“This is where we communicate with our ancestors.” Northheart whispered, still shaken. As Scar opened his mouth to respond, Northheart warned him by whispering:
“You have to keep silence because our ancestors rest in this cave.”
Scar didn't answer. Northheart wiggled his ears. He demonstrated Scar by laying down next to the stone.
“What are you doing?” Scar asked softly but sharply. Northheart opened his eyes and looked at Scar.
“That's how you share your dreams with your ancestors. You lie down next to the stone and fall asleep.”
“Are you trying to tell me that I will communicate with them in my dreams?” Scar asked. Northheart just nodded. Scar sighed heavily and lay down beside the stone as Northheart did. Northheart closed his eyes and waited patiently for him to fall asleep.

He woke up in a glistening forest. Northheart rose to his feet and noticed Scar already seated beside him.
“So where are the ancestors?” Scar asked. Northheart was about to respond when spirit of Tallclaw appeared. Tallclaw looked like the young cat he once was. The former leader was looking at Scar, who was also staring at him. Northheart was broke seeing him here. He can't see me. Northheart noticed. Tallclaw walked over to the Scar and muttered:
“Hello, Scar. Today you have become a leader who will surely follow the path of good.”
Scar looked shocked. Was it the first time he saw a ghost? Northheart sat grimly.
“You will be a strong and loyal ruler. I believe that you will take care of your herd and your herdmates.” Tallclaw muttered. Scar just nodded.
“It's time you got the leadership name you deserve. Scar from today you will be known as Amber Fury. Your ancestors believe in you and so do I.” Tallclaw replied. Amber Fury proudly raised his head. Northheart claws out.
But then, Tallclaw turned serious.
“But there's something I need to tell you. Soon a cat will appear in your herd that will have the power of revenge in its paws like you. You need to be vigilant and keep an eye on your herdmates.”
“Yes, Tallclaw.” Amber Fury spoke suddenly. Northheart became concerned about the prophecy. Could this announced cat have more power than Amber Fury? Northheart knew he had to face what was to come.
