Shoyo's POV
I gasp as I look around. "Hinata, are you okay?" Suga asks. I touch my cheek and realize I've been crying. "Yeah, I'm okay," I reply. "What time is it?" I ask. "We've trying to wake you up for two hours. Minus crying and being unresponsive, you seemed okay so we didn't know if we should call an ambulance or not," Kiyoko says.
"I have to pick up my sister from daycare," I mumble. "Sorry for wasting your guys' practice time." I pack up my stuff and leave. "Wait!" Yamaguchi exclaims. "Practice is over anyways, why don't we walk with you?" He, Tsukishima, and Kageyama all have their stuff together and are ready to go.
"Thanks you guys," I reply and we all head out. The walk to Natsu's daycare is quiet, doused in an tension. "Yamaguchi," I start. "Do you have any siblings?" He looks up at me with a smile, and my heart sinks.
"Yeah, I do," he replies. "I have an older brother, who's a policeman." After Yamaguchi finishes, the silence returns. To make it seem that I am being curious, I ask Kageyama if he has any siblings, since we already know Tsukishima's brother.
"I'm an only child," Kageyama replies. He looks sad as he says this. He probably wishes for a sibling. Kageyama notices me staring and I turn away, blushing. I may be closer to Yamaguchi, but I have a crush on Kageyama.
"So, Hinata," Yamaguchi starts, slyly. That son of a bitch is going to ask about my love life. "No," I quickly respond. Before anyone can say anything, I turn my attention towards our destination. "Look, we're here," I exclaim, avoiding all of their questions.
We walk through the front gate and up to the podium where the sign-out sheet is. The daycare lady is already waiting with Natsu. "Hey Hinata," she says. "Just sign here and you can go." She hands me the form and I sign at the next open space. I hand her the sheet as Natsu walks over to us.
"Thanks, have a good day," she says as we leave. We say goodbye and head to our house. "Who are they Sho?" Natsu asks when we leave. "These are my teammates Kageyama, Yamaguchi, and Tsukishima," I explain.
"Nice to meet you," she states, squeezing my hand. "They're coming over tonight for dinner," I tell her. "I know Mom's not going to make it," she tells me. "So let's have mac n' cheese." I laugh. "Sure, why not," I laugh.
The rest of the way home, Natsu asks everyone lots of questions, trying to get to know them. I can't help but smile as I watch Natsu and Kageyama bicker like they're siblings. Suddenly, I get a bad feeling. Natsu stops at my side and takes my hand.
Oh, right. I forgot to mention some things. First, Natsu has some psychic abilities, too, though not as powerful as mine. And second, I don't just get visions of the future. I can also sense when something bad is about to happen nearby, to those I care about, or on a scale of citywide to worldwide catastrophe.
"Is something wrong?" Yamaguchi asks. "I think we should take a different route to my house," I reply. We start to back up, but are too late. A three men with black fire tattoos on their necks come around the corner. "Great, it's member of the Kuroi-Hi gang," Tsukishima mutters. (Kuroi hi means black fire in Japanese. Pronounced koo-roy-hee)
The Kuroi-Hi gang is one of the most famous gangs in Japan, whose headquarters is located four blocks away from the police station. Most people don't know that it's there and just think it's some old abandoned warehouse, but a vision I had two months ago proved otherwise. But you can't exactly go to the police saying that you had a magical vision that showed you where the gang's base is located, can you?
Natsu squeezes my hand as we slowly inch away from them. "Looks like we have some easy prey tonight," the man on the far right says. "Just leave us alone. We don't have any money," I nervously shout at them. We're about one and a half blocks away from my house, but if we run there' they'll know where I live.
"Let us go you assholes," Kageyama spits, making them angry. I only said I had a crush on the guy. I never said it was because he was smart. "Looks like someone's trying to be brave," the one in the middle says. "I think you need to be taught a lesson on how to speak to your elders."
The guy to the right charges at me with a knife. I push Natsu into Yamaguchi and disarm the guy, knocking him out in the process. Everyone stares in shock. I kick the knife over by Tsukishima and prepare for round two.
The delinquent to the left charges at me with a gun in his hand. I sidestep him and hit him in the throat, knocking him out as well. I kick the gun away and turn to the third guy. He sizes me up and then goes to pull out his gun, but I'm too fast. I run up and kick his wrist, causing him to drop the gun. Then I clap his ears and knee him in the throat. He falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Shoyo!" Natsu exclaims. She runs over and hugs me. After we're done hugging, she punches me in the stomach. "Don't ever do something like that again!" The guys erupt in laughter. "Alright. Now let's head home," I tell her. she nods and smiles at me.
"What do we do about them?" Tsukishima asks. "Call the police and hope they're still here when they arrive," I reply. "I'll take care of that." Yamaguchi states. "Also, I agree with Hinata. If the police don't arrive by the time they wake up, we don't want to be here."
Yamaguchi calls the police as we head home, but something still doesn't feel right. It might be because Yamaguchi's brother is going to die and I'm the only one who knows, or maybe it's because something else is going to happen. I try and shake the lingering feeling that something isn't right as we continue on towards my house.
